Re: Yale 2011 applicants
The primary reason applicants matriculate at Harvard rather than Yale is because they were not admitted to Yale. The primary reason that applicants matriculate at Yale over Harvard is because they were admitted to Yale.

Okay. According to the blog post today should be the end of the road! Thank goodness. I'm tired of not knowing.

I'm taking "initial" decisions to mean rejections and acceptances, since those are final. Waitlist to come next week?

Re: Yale 2011 applicants
I would love to think that today is the end, but...first, Yale is known to release decisions on the weekends, so probably Sunday is the end. And second, she said only that all "offers of admission" would be out this week, which makes me think that they'll still be deciding between rejections and waitlists for a little while. But the end is in sight nonetheless. Thank heaven.Galnnn wrote:Okay. According to the blog post today should be the end of the road! Thank goodness. I'm tired of not knowing.

I would just like to get it over with already. I'm wondering at this point if my rejection letter just got lost and that's why I haven't heard.

Re: Yale 2011 applicants
I am perplexed as well. I feel like they haven't rejected anyone in a long time, and especially now that they decided to send all decisions by email, you would think more of us would have heard.subtle wrote:I would just like to get it over with already. I did hear that another TLSer got in today, so Asha's not quite done with us yet.

The fb group (224) is regularly (if slowly) climbing upwards, so people are getting in.

Frame it. Now you are in a position to turn down Yale.

Can't help but suspect that means the initial acceptances have all been sent.

Thanks! I kind of love that this is the one and only waitlist you get congratulated on. In answer to your question, probably. If my visit to Harvard this weekend completely seals the deal, I'll withdraw. Otherwise, I'll hang on to it.suspicious android wrote:congratulations, you think you'll ride it out?may wrote:Heads up, I just received the waitlist email.

Re: Yale 2011 applicants
it amuses me to see how we're talking about a waitlist as a sign of success or something it's NOT it's actually pretty horrible to know you're capable enough just not that capable of gaining an acceptance. Do you know what that means? Yale is telling you that you were so, so, so close of gaining acceptance but you had to go screw it by doing/not doing who knows what. You're being waitlisted at the top law school in the WORLD...feel that pressure in your shoulders, go ahead.

I know you're ok with it it might be your lack of energy/enthusiasm that got you waitlisted in the first place.may wrote:I'm pretty okay with it actually.hope11 wrote:it amuses me to see how we're talking about a waitlist as a sign of success or something it's NOT it's actually pretty horrible to know you're capable enough just not that capable of gaining an acceptance.
