And just like that, they emailed me and said I'm in. Hopefully the same situation for everyone else in this batch, congrats everyone!

The stuff you get in the mail isn't that important.. scholarship info is sent later. If you had a letter sent today your are 99.99% in... UF doesn't send waitlist/rejections until March. You should just operate under the safe assumption that you were just accepted.

Ok so reading this I just tried to do the same thing and they told me that they couldn't tell me over the phone!!! Bummer!!! Cause I am going to Tallahassee this weekend too for ASD and am not really a fan of FSU. Oh well guess I will just have to wait for the letter.
That's probably because a million people are trying to do that now. I almost didn't even post it because I knew everyone would want to be like me and try it lol. I would bet you're IN! I feel your waiting pain though.

I am sooooo grateful to you!! The Dean of Admissions called me back, and I'm IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Thank you so much!

But theres now close to 0.1% chance of scholarship money for me which makes UF a no go. I can't complain though because going into this cycle UF seemed like one of the best schools/choices I would have but I have gotten some much better offers. I might withdraw soon just to get it over with.

I love the coincidence here, I'll be down partying at Daytona all week and will most definitely swing by for the ASD thing. Doing the whole life-changing-adventure thing by going here to school from Canada knowing nobody within 1000km, so it would be pretty fun meeting a few people ahead of time!

Sooo, has anyone at all received a rejection from UF? I've read about 200+ posts and only saw people talking about being either accepted or held (huge congrats to those who are in btw!)...and then of course all you studs with 170's and 3.8's talking about how much money it will take in scholarships for you to attend or else u will shoot UF the finger...but I didn't read anywhere that said someone had been denied. I'm in the "File Reviewed, No Decision Rendered - 1/28" pile and just curious if they honestly ONLY send rejections at the end...

Well, they send waitlists as well. So, the answer to your question is no. They do not ONLY send rejections at the end (I'm sure they will send acceptances too). From what I understand so far, mainly from the thread, is that they ONLY send acceptences and holds at this time.

Still on hold, but this status changed only last week. Seems like everyone not accepted goes on hold so I guess I shouldn't send a LOCI unless I'm waitlisted.

haha, so the answer to my question is yes??...you said the answer to my question is no; however, you say "...they ONLY send acceptances and holds at this time" - which would mean they ONLY send rejections later. I think the "only" is what is tripping us up...I don't mean it like there will not be other decisions towards the end i.e. acceptances and waitlists, what I meant by "only" is that one will not receive a rejection until a specific later time in the application process. "Will one only have the option of being denied after the month of February?"...

DLS Today! UF is probably my top choice. Any suggestions on what I should email/call admissions and say to have the best chance of getting my decision? I seriously can not wait. I am shaking right now. I would be extremely happy to be a GATOR!!!

So.. now that there are new admits-- anyone have to make the choice between UF @ sticker & FSU with $$? I'm really wondering everyones thoughts on which they would choose (and why)?

No decision since 1/14 as well...but no offers from better schools yet... :/

Barbie I would pick UF personally because of their Tax Law program. I am an accounting undergraduate so I am definitely looking into UF. From living in florida most of my life I think the understood prestige order is UF then FSU then Miami in terms of schools but thats just what I percieve. I worked for a great corporate lawyer this summer and he went to FSU and said he doesnt see a different between the two they are both good. I would suggest if finances are a concern go to FSU but if you want the top dog then I think that title goes to UF. The biggest negative to UF I see is gainsville - it's not super nice and theres not a ton to do but I know that football games in the swamp and being part of the Gator nation would be worth it for me. Thats another thing I LOVE about UF the alumni really stick together. That's just my two cents. I really hope the batches today are all acceptances though or I will be really dissapointed!

Take FSU and $$. UF, while ranked a little higher, certainly isn't a big enough boost to justify paying that much more for. ESPECIALLY if you are OOS. UF at sticker OOS is not worth it IMO.
