In via phone call for full time. I was waiting all day at work for the call and missed it as I was walking through the garage. While I'm happy, the wording in the voice mail was very weird about scholarships. Like...we'll mail out the package...the scholarship committee will make a decision next week...and we'll notify you by mail if we decide to give you a scholarship.

Haha...maybe I'm being paranoid. If tuition is 20k a year, I'll be in Dallas. Not holding my breath.

I think SMU is trying to give me a heart attack by making me wait for an eternity. I applied to both programs, listed as "Application Completed"- 11/1/10 and nothing since then. :?

Congratulations to those who got in today! The way this cycle looks so far I'm expecting to be waitlisted with my 163. Houston here I come?

Congrats to the recent FT admits. It certainly has been a busy day in Dallas. Best of luck to those still waiting; I'm rooting for you all.

Note: See how I didn't end that last sentence with "y'all." It will be a cold day in hell before I go down that path.

My phone's been glued to me for the past hour... alas. Maybe tomorrow.

Congrats to everyone who got accepted! You'll LOVE Dallas, no regrets.

Btw, my status checker changed to admitted sometime after the phone call. A Little anticlimactic if you ask me.

"Cavender's Boot City ... For Less!" Every time I see one of their stores, I get that stupid jingle stuck in my head.

haha, you're fine. Dallas is pretty "metro," if that makes any sense. Aside from LA, Vegas, or NYC, Dallas is pretty big on fashion, you'll see a bit of everything.

That being said, you'll want a pair of boots after a while 8)

You know, I've lived in Texas for all of my 26 years (except for the 2 1/2 I was in the Marine Corps) and I love this place, but the only boots I own are my two pairs of combat boots. I believe I may be a failure

I only own a pair of Timberland hiking boots.

Why the hell would you want other kinds when it's 110 out?

Flip-flops.

I was being a bit facetious. Damn lack of a sarcasm font.
And actually, I love my jungle boots when it's hot outside and I'm having to do something that would normally require boots, and they're more comfortable than most boots.

The message said scholarships would be decided over the next few weeks and would come in a separate letter.

Time to start looking for a house in University Park.
Congrats! You set on SMU?

Thanks! Not set yet. SMU is VERY expensive for a PT program. I'll need to see the scholarship offer, if there is one.

Any of the ED people receive financial aid packets, beyond the scholly offers they got up front? Just curious if it would come before the 1st seat deposit. Not holding my breath though. From what y'all who are already enrolled have told us, they are notoriously slow....

***Congrats to the recent admits!

When is SMU's FAFSA stuff due? I think I remember April 1st being the recommended deadline.

applied 12/7 held 1/22. 164/2.9 was hoping to get in and even hold out for a bit of cash in the event that they needed my 164 to hold their median. Doesn't look good now I don't think.

Can some admits who already got the package tell me what the estimated cost of attendance is next year? I imagine the number w/o scholarship is scary high.

Haven't gotten it yet, but an SMU follies video has suggested I start liquidating assets.

But hey, at least we're not paying 70,000+ for Cardozo.
