I got it too. I didn't visit, so I wasn't expecting an email. It stopped my heart for a beat or two. Then it broke it.

Re: Wake Forest 2010
Question: If a candidate is strong enough for the Fletcher offer, then they likely have several other GREAT acceptances, likely to higher ranked schools. It seems likely that an initial Fletcher offer may get turned down by someone who is otherwise T14 (Duke?) bound. If someone denies Fletcher, would it be silly to assume that they would then offer it to another candidate?

Re: Wake Forest 2010
I think it is safe to assume that the Fletcher will be given to 2 people who will accept, even if that means offering it to more than 2 people. I feel like with this e-mail, they have likely talked to the candidates and affirmed their acceptance of the scholarship, otherwise they probably wouldn't be sending out e-mails saying that we were getting denied for the Fletcher right? Plus to get the Fletcher, these people had to have visited, which means they at least have SOME interest in Wake.S de Garmeaux wrote:Question: If a candidate is strong enough for the Fletcher offer, then they likely have several other GREAT acceptances, likely to higher ranked schools. Pretty sure I met a fletcher scholar at Wake, she had turned down UVA to attend Wake. I also did not get it, shenanigans.

Re: Wake Forest 2010
Can someone post their fletcher e-mail?
I got one and I'm not sure if was the standard one or if they were rejecting my bid for more money (or possibly both).
I e-mailed them about additional aid (a week or so ago) because georgiaUGA was offering me a scholly that made them cheaper. Today I got the non-fletcher e-mail and I'm not sure if I got the standard one, or if they added in stuff that basically said, no dice on any additional aid.
Its too bad, because cost is serious and UGA is starting to look nice.
I guess I could just call up wake and ask, but it would be akward for me to say- "so are you giving me more money or not."
Thanks

Re: Wake Forest 2010
im guessing with all the withdraws wake will be getting in the next few days due to acceptances not receiving the fletcher, scholarship money might be distributed earlier than April 1. i hope.
*edit*
Just looking at LSN, it seems like those accepted 1/29 might start seeing $$ soon, since someone from that batch got 18k yesterday. exciting. maybe.

Re: Wake Forest 2010
The Scholarship Committee met today to select the 2010 Fletcher Scholars. All scholarship recipients were considered and the selection was exceedingly difficult due to the outstanding accomplishments presented by you and other candidates. Although you were not selected for the Fletcher Scholarship, everyone remains extremely impressed with your superb credentials and exemplary personal characteristics. We realize that you have admission and scholarship offers from other schools and are weighing your options. We, however, know that you would be a wonderful leader both within and outside of the classroom at Wake Forest law school and would be honored if you choose to join our Great Class of 2013.
If, however, you have made the decision to attend another law school, please let us know as soon as possible. We request your decision by April 1 so that any released funds may be awarded.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Sincerely yours,
Melanie Nutt

Got my status checker. My cycle feels so... way behind. Kind of wish I took December instead of Feb.

Hola Waterman! Yepper, UGA is looking like my front runner although I <3 Wake and am having a hard time deciding. Last Friday marked the start of my reach school slaughter so I'm begining to have an idea of where things actually standD. thanks, looks like i got the standard one. So, have they dinged my negotiation by not saying, "but we offer you x additional?"
Ahh, law school admissions, quit playing games with my heart.

Re: Wake Forest 2010
haha, yeah I'm in the same spot. If (more accurately "when") my last second ED to Georgetown PT fails, I'm actually thinking Washington and Lee. I was leaning midwest (Minn or UIUC) all cycle. But, I don't for some reason I like the school a lot. For 22 minutes on Monday Wake Forest jumped to #1 for me :lol, but that didn't work out.missvik218 wrote:Hola Waterman! Well, I didn't get the "No Fletcher" e-mail, so I guess I can hold out hope...?

Have you been accepted yet? if so, how long ago? You might not be on the mailing list.
If you've been accepted for a while and didn't get the e-mail, i'd say you could hold out hope that you'd get some kind of scholly? Dunno really.

I was accepted about 10 days ago. I did get the infamous "30k....yoink" e-mail series, so not getting this email has buoyed my spirits a bit.Nicholasnickynic wrote:84Sunbird2000 wrote:Well, I didn't get the "No Fletcher" e-mail, so I guess I can hold out hope...?

I'm in the same boat with Wake right now. I was having the same thoughts as you. Let's hope this is not an end to negotiation for both of us.Nicholasnickynic wrote:thanks, looks like i got the standard one. So, have they dinged my negotiation by not saying, "but we offer you x additional?"

I don't believe you are in the running for the Fletcher.
I believe you had to be at an Admitted Scholar's Day gathering to be considered.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
