Great attitude! I was WL @ Northwestern and withdrew immediately after being accepted at Chicago as I would choose Chicago over Northwestern.jjcorvino wrote:I think I am going to withdraw from the waitlist. I don't expect I would get any scholarship money off the waitlist, and I am in at Columbia. All things being equal I would choose Columbia over Chicago.

Is Chicago known to be generous or stingy with their schollarships?

80% receive a scholarship of some form. ~22% of the class gets at least half tuition. Fairly generous it seemsarmc808 wrote:+1Assasindowntheavenue wrote:Is Chicago known to be generous or stingy with their schollarships?

I was looking at the 509s and I think it might be closer to 84-85% if you take transfer students for the last two years and calculate % scholarship. It's my understanding that transfers don't get aid, but I might be wrong. Compared to other T14s, and especially it's Columbia-tied-partner, pretty generous.Assasindowntheavenue wrote:Thanks guys!KMart wrote:i wish i knew more. it doesn't have the reputation of being WashU but i dont think it has a reputation of being stingy. sadly, just be patient. you will find out soon enougharmc808 wrote:+1Assasindowntheavenue wrote:Is Chicago known to be generous or stingy with their schollarships?chargers21 wrote: 80% receive a scholarship of some form. ~22% of the class gets at least half tuition. Really hoping they toss out *something* so I can justify more easily choosing them over somewhere lower ranked with significant scholarship. Even if it's really just a token gesture I would feel better.chargers21 wrote:80% receive a scholarship of some form. ~22% of the class gets at least half tuition. +1. Even 10K a year would probably encourage me to deposit.lsa16 wrote:Really hoping they toss out *something* so I can justify more easily choosing them over somewhere lower ranked with significant scholarship. Is Chicago one of the schools you're not supposed to send a Why Chicago letter to? I sent one to NYU so I'm not certain what the consensus is.

How quickly do status changes typically occur after interviews? Mine changed the day of the interview AND the day after.

Exactly the same for me. Now it's been ten days with no other change.lawschool2016nyc wrote:How quickly do status changes typically occur after interviews? Mine changed the day of the interview AND the day after.
