So you're probably UR 1/1.5 I guess...Chicago![]()
Application Received
Application Complete (you get an email for this)
Application Under Review (UR 1) <- indicates first committee review of your file
(OPTIONAL) Application Under Review (UR 1.5) <- I did not receive this step, but I believe some people did
Invited for Interview
Application Under Review (UR 2) <- generally immediately after your interview, indicates that the interview is done
Application Under Review (UR 3) <- indicates second committee review of your file
Application Under Review (UR 4) <- most (all?) people get this in the days leading up to decisions being released
"Invited to Interview" -> Interview scheduled

I feel this so hard, but I'm relatively new in town and have no idea what this entails. Anyone wanna be a hero?Dcc617 wrote:Hey, can someone make an Admitted Students thread? Please? I don't want to clog up this thread with that stuff.

I believe that WinterComing said that he would make one in a few days, but I don't know if he's still planning on doing so or not.GrayGamut wrote:I feel this so hard, but I'm relatively new in town and have no idea what this entails. Double FYI, "late afternoon" = 6ish EST in this contextGrapesOfLaugh wrote:FYI, last round of UR4s was on 2/2 and decisions went out late afternoon of 2/4.

Submitted app on 12/1, believe I'm in UR4 as of today. No interview request throughout the process. Any insights on this?

Are you certain that you never received an interview invite? It's possible to receive an invitation, not schedule an interview, and continue in the application process, but I don't think that I've heard of anyone skipping the interview invitation step (which that many UR changes would imply, though not guarantee).xng16 wrote:Submitted app on 12/1, believe I'm in UR4 as of today. I know that my interview invitation almost got lost. I use gmail, and it didn't get sent to any of my main tabs; the only reason I saw it was the notification on my phone, and then digging through my gmail's "All" folder until I found it.
I think that this would merit a phone call to the admissions office.

Wouldn't interview requests be on the status check page under 'Mailings'?Bearlyalive wrote:Are you certain that you never received an interview invite? I am also pretty sure that I have had at least two date changes and no interview request.

Fair point, yeah it should show up under mailings. Still an odd situation though, as drblake would be at like UR1.875drblakedowns wrote:Wouldn't interview requests be on the status check page under 'Mailings'?Bearlyalive wrote:Are you certain that you never received an interview invite? Yeah, there is nothing under my mailings or anything that indicates an interview was requested. Checked my spam in my email tooBearlyalive wrote:Fair point, yeah it should show up under mailings. I am also pretty sure that I have had at least two date changes and no interview request. Not that we have any idea what even UR1.5 means anyways. Probably just best to sit back and wait it out.

I am little bit confused. I had my interview 2/26, and went to UR2 that day. Then 2/29 I went to UR3.
Today (3/1) my date changed again, so am I in UR4 now? How can it be this fast???!!! Is this a bad sign?

UR4 typically means a decision will be made soon. Some people have also gone under UR5yanshuining wrote:I am little bit confused. I had my interview 2/26, and went to UR2 that day. Then 2/29 I went to UR3.

I think they actually get through apps after interviews quite quickly for everyone. They just seem to like to get most people in a particular interview block their decisions in the same wave, so it seems a lot faster for people at the tail end of that period. Just speculation though.yanshuining wrote:I am little bit confused. I had my interview 2/26, and went to UR2 that day. Then 2/29 I went to UR3.

Bummer, was hoping to see money today at the latest. Is Wednesday still considered "early" in the week? lolteflondon wrote:Early this coming week, I was told.lurkin_hard wrote:Anyone have any idea when scholarship info for 2/4 admits is likely to come out?

It seemed like more of a "we hope to have it out by then" statement.lolRCscrewyou wrote:Bummer, was hoping to see money today at the latest. Yeah, I think your speculation might be correct. I went back to see the stats sheet, and did spot some fast turnaround for people interviewed towards the end of the "block". I would not put too much stock in when and how your apps are reviewed. They might or might not have had a system before, but they changed admissions staff--quite substantially.
Relax, and I would suggest not checking the status checker and trying to figure things out based on what you see there.

This seems like good advice for not stressing yourself out. On the other hand, it seems Chicago's status checker and the nature of Chicago's decision waves have both been remarkably consistentlandshoes wrote:I would not put too much stock in when and how your apps are reviewed. Re: Chicago C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I was in the 2/4 decision wave and interviewed a few days before the decisions were rendered. So I went from UR1.5 to UR4 within the course of maybe two days? I was still accepted, so there is no need to worry if your app is being processed quickly. It is just how their wave system works.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
