Someone last week who got the letter said they got accepted. I don't remember the username but if you just scroll back a bit you'll find it.squirtlesquad14 wrote:Has anyone who applied early in the cycle and got that really weird "we haven't forgotten about you, don't worry this isn't a decision email, we'll just make it really long so you think it is, but really please just wait even longer" email received a decision yet?

I'm still sitting at incomplete after 3 weeks. Why won't Michigan just move to a system that syncs with the LSAC site like pretty much everyone else in the T14? It seems horribly inefficient to me, but what do I know.

In this morning! Submitted 12/9, Status Checker email 12/15, Complete around mid-January. So excited
I'm sure this has been discussed before, but are there stipends for the ASW? I think the answer is no but want to make sure!

The c/o 2014 stats were a lot better.Toodle-loo wrote:Hi all.
Long time lurker here coming out of the woods to ask opinions. I was reading the UMich c/o 2018 forum and noticed that a lot of people were really concerned with Michigan's jobs stats released last March, to the extent that some people withdrew immediately and some appeared to eat their deposits and attend elsewhere or reapply next cycle.
I haven't seen as much concern on this thread or the Michigan law c/o 2019 thread (where I'll be cross-posting this question), but I'm curious if you all share this concern or think it's unfounded.
(CTT I've read several of your recent posts and you seem to articulate that it's not at all a worry - do you have any additional thoughts on the issue?)

Re: Michigan Law School C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-16)
I love the school (and I absolutely love Dean Z, and the feel, and campus.....) But I've gotten acceptances that are going to make choosing to live in Michigan hard. There are distinct advantages to being in NYC if you that's where you want/are willing to practice beyond simply a higher ranked school. I haven't dug into the stats much, they were low but still comparable to other T14s, and gave me slight pause, but not enough to be actually concerned. I'm interested if others feel differently, but basically the numbers were 'close enough' to not matter much? I don't know if that's naive.newrad wrote:The c/o 2014 stats were a lot better.Toodle-loo wrote:Hi all.

From what I understand accommodations are just heavily subsidized ($20/night).larsy91 wrote:In this morning! Submitted 12/9, Status Checker email 12/15, Complete around mid-January. So excited![]()

Just looked it up -- you are correct. A couple things that I felt might be relevant after skimming these last few pages:
1) I received the "We Didn't Forget About You!" email a couple of weeks ago, and was accepted shortly after. So don't think that it means you're getting waitlisted.
2) As far as switching from Summer to Fall, I also attempted this and my experience was very similar to the other poster. I emailed Admissions, they responded asking for a concrete reason, then forwarded my request for a "term change"... 20 minutes later I get a notification email that I was now a Fall starter.
I have to say, Michigan's admissions office has been extremely helpful and personable, even when my inquiries/requests have been rather... annoying.

Financial aid office has also been great - both before and after acceptance. It makes schools definitely stand out (hint hint)gazorpazorp wrote:A couple things that I felt might be relevant after skimming these last few pages:

Re: Michigan Law School C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-16)
I called Admissions today to ask a few long-winded questions, and they talked to me for over half an hour. Not once did I feel annoying or rushed, and I appreciated that a LOT. I'm hoping that once I get some other fin aid offers and bring them to Mich, the financial aid office will be just as helpful.threatlevelmidnight wrote:
