What hours do they work in New Haven? Admit calls always seem to come so late!

Re: Yale c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
I applied to Yale 99% sure I didn't fit the bar. All I had under my belt was that a relative of mine attended graduate school at Yale, great softs and an above-average (but not HYS) tier index.
I received the email stating my application was completed and under review by the faculty members and may take some time for a decision. That same evening, my old iPhone rang with an unknown 203 (southern CT) number, but I missed it. My heart dropped when I got home and saw it on my phone. It was too late to call it back.
The next day during break at work I called the number back. No answer. I pondered, "there's no way that's Yale." I tried looking up information on the number but my GoogleFu failed me. I was baffled and anxious enough already. I let it go.
The phone rang again that evening. Same number. I picked it up this time.
"Hello?"
"HEY $%*@#! WHAT'S UP, YOU ANSWERED!"
It was my friend from undergraduate who lives in the area. I failed to realize that setting up my iCloud/iTunes on my new iPhone deleted my old iPhone's contact list (I am no Apple expert). I wanted to hit my head on my desk so hard. I told him. He thought it was hilarious.
So now that my dream bubble has burst, I'm back to awaiting my rejection papers to come in the mail. :)

Man, this is starting to get a little old. It's just hard to wait for so long. We've got plans to make.
I know I shouldn't complain. All things will work out in perfect time.

I seriously thought this was going to be the story about how you found out you got into Yale.TripleCheck wrote:I applied to Yale 99% sure I didn't fit the bar. Well, I don't post, but I certainly browse. Got the call around 8, said "wow" a bunch of times before hanging up. Was in the middle of the True Detective season finale. Loved the call, but it totally ruined the vibe of the showdown with [whoops -- no spoilers]. Also helped offset the letdown of being waitlisted at Georgetown last week.drawstring wrote:Two people who don't post on TLS will be very happy
PM me for stats or questions. At median GPA, above median LSAT. Decent softs. Did my 250 on getting my butt kicked by a marathon.

Missed a call around 9:30, saw the 203 and tried to stay calm, called back 5 minutes later. I think I just said "thank you" and "wow" a bunch of times. He asked if I had any questions, and I said, "Maybe once I process this, but not right now." >75% LSAT, 25% GPA, ok softs. Drunk on champaign I found in my storage right now.

I get a lot of work emails that call me "Dr." Think I can add that to my Yale application to pretend I've cured cancer or something?
