Thanks, will do!lawschool22 wrote:This question would probably get better answers in the accepted students thread.IrishJew wrote:Hey, All. Just got my acceptance letter today. Applied 11/21, very good LSAT, crappy GPA < 25th, strong softs, and I wrote a why Mich. All my info is in the spreadsheet. PM me if you want stats or personal info.
Sorry if this is a question that has been asked and answered, but does anyone know when and how they notify you of merit aid? I see a few people in here commenting on aid offers, but my letter didn't say anything one way or the other, does that mean I didn't get any aid, do they send it later on their own, or do you have to fill out a form to ask for aid?
Thanks for any info you have and good luck to all who are still waiting!

Can one of you beautiful people be kind enough to tell me if for Mich's optional essays, the seventh one (How might your perspectives and experiences enrich the quality and breadth of the intellectual life of our community or enhance the legal profession?) is the traditional diversity statement. I have a DS that I wrote in a narrative form and I would like to use it for Mich and I'm wondering if I can submit it for prompt seven. The fifth prompt is not really working for my DS because I only talk about how awesome it is and don't really go into any problems with diversity per se.

I should know better. Here's my info:
submitted: first day app opened (8/23 or something)
complete: 9/13
GPA: 3.9x
LSAT: 160-163 range
What surprises me is that they accepted me last year, and I was unable to go because of a death in the family, which they knew. Maybe they've changed strategy with the new dean? Just seems a bit cold to me.

Rough to hear. I'm sure with that GPA you'll kill it with other T14s!ohpobrecito wrote:I should know better. Here's my info:

Also rejected today. Kinda weird since I applied super early (a bit later than ohpobrecito) and had an 80%+ chance of getting in on mylsn. All good though; gotta make room for bumps in the road.

Wow I always figured I was going to be in pretty good shape with my gpa only slightly under 25th and 172+, but apparently not.abdistotle wrote:Discovered I was rejected with gpa comfortably over the 25th and lsat of 172+.

You just might be. I didn't expect this at all. I guess I just rubbed someone the wrong way with my applicationRangers5 wrote:Wow I always figured I was going to be in pretty good shape with my gpa only slightly under 25th and 172+, but apparently not.abdistotle wrote:Discovered I was rejected with gpa comfortably over the 25th and lsat of 172+.

Yeah... First rejection of the cycle. Oddly, it feels less worse than my waitlists at other T14s thus far.jk148706 wrote:Wow a ding with those #s? That's tough sorry to hear itabdistotle wrote:Discovered I was rejected with gpa comfortably over the 25th and lsat of 172+.

I too feel somewhat blase about this rejection. Maybe this attests to the fact that it wouldn't have been a good fit for me. A rejection from NYU or CLS on the other hand won't be pretty.abdistotle wrote:Yeah... First rejection of the cycle.
