I don't think we can assume anything about it. They haven't sent out very many, judging by the spreadsheet and what's been report ITT, and they all seem to be very highly qualified people from a numbers perspective. I think it truly is "experimental" and they chose people with a high likelihood of acceptance, so that by delaying a decision for those folks, it wouldn't materially affect their chances.yossarian71 wrote:But we can assume, if you're below the medians, that it's a bad thing? Let me correct something I said earlier....
first reported email last year was at 5:51 PM EST, not 4:51 EST. So hopefully someone will hear something around 6......
I don't usually post this often/get this neurotic (well, maybe I do) but this Friday at work is going way too slow....

1 hour real world time is the equivalent of about 27 days TLS time.Tela1283 wrote:Let me correct something I said earlier....

Re: Columbia c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
You guys can call me an idiot if this has already been posted but there is an interview explanation in Columbia's web portal:
Interview Program 2013-2014
Columbia Law School is introducing a Skype interview component for applicants to the J.D. Class of 2017. The feedback we have received over the years suggests that applicants might find it useful to have more opportunities for interaction during the admissions process. Through this pilot program, we aim to provide applicants with the means to learn more about Columbia in a more personal way, just as we hope to understand even more about our applicants’ interests and motivations.
During the 2013–2014 admissions cycle, we plan to extend interview invitations to a small number of applicants selected at random. If at the end of the admissions cycle, we determine that the interview program serves as an appropriate forum for meaningful conversations with our applicants, it is our goal then to interview a larger segment of our applicant pool in future admissions cycles.

6:00 PM EST was it last year....so about an hour left.
I wouldn't give up hope. I have a pessimistic feeling too...but so did everyone last year, and then it happened (on a Friday, too). So who knows?

I think just acceptances.quijotesca1011 wrote:When Columbia has sent out a first wave of decisions in the past, has it been just acceptances? Or also rejections/wait lists?
Don't rejections/waitlists come by email?

Well in any case, currently we're waiting on reports from people who have been emailed.kershka wrote:I think just acceptances.quijotesca1011 wrote:When Columbia has sent out a first wave of decisions in the past, has it been just acceptances? Or also rejections/wait lists?

I really wish Columbia emailed/called in acceptances because I don't trust USPS 100%, especially with all the snow.kershka wrote:I think just acceptances.quijotesca1011 wrote:When Columbia has sent out a first wave of decisions in the past, has it been just acceptances?
