Soooooo I don't think we should assume we're soft holds at this point. SLS hasn't rejected many people at all this cycle. Maybe we'll get a wave of dings this week.

Re: Stanford C/O 2016 Applicants Thread
So SLS sent me an email and I almost had a heart attack. Turns out they just wanted an updated study abroad transcript with grades so they can "review my file." I told them this might be a problem as the grades don't transfer and they don't factor into my GPA at any rate because the classes were taken at a foreign institution. They still want the grades on the transcript...
Is this a good sign that they still care about me, or is this normal? Hoping it's the former...
Edit: complete mid-October

Hmmm, I wonder why they're so concerned about your study abroad grades. And if they're still reviewing Oct applicants, we have a looooooong way to go. Good luck!lsacqueen wrote:So SLS sent me an email and I almost had a heart attack. Turns out they just wanted an updated study abroad transcript with grades so they can "review my file." Well now I'm wishing I hadn't mildly blown off my study abroad grades, thinking they didn't matter because they don't affect my GPA... ughh. Thanks for the good vibes guys

I'm simply encouraged by the fact that they are still reviewing these early applications.lsacqueen wrote:So SLS sent me an email and I almost had a heart attack. I had similar issues with classes taken abroad outside my school sponsored study abroad program (ie the grades didn't appear on my normal transcript). SLS was the only school that required an actual physical transcript from the foreign university :/lsacqueen wrote:Well now I'm wishing I hadn't mildly blown off my study abroad grades, thinking they didn't matter because they don't affect my GPA... ughh. so if we have a "decision letter sent" status as of today, that's definitely a rejection?

If it makes you feel any less hopeful, I have autoreject numbers and I'm still alive.
HTH
But seriously, why leave so many people hanging with the slow ding/waitlist trickle? I wish they just ripped the bandaid off, Berkeley style.

Well according to http://www.mylsn.info/whenwilliknow.php it's unlikely but not impossible for September submits to get admitted way late.WhiteyCakes wrote:There's no reason to hope, right?
