I am wondering if I should even bother with the interview, since I just graduated in May and have no post-grad, full-time WE. The nearest interview city is 3 hours away from me, so it would be a pain to go if I'm an auto-ding simply because I'm a recent grad.

Northwestern says in their TLS profile that a straight from UG candidate with a really high LSAT or a really high gpa still has a good shotTim0thy222 wrote:177/3.2crumpetsandtea wrote:What are your numbers?Tim0thy222 wrote:Is the consensus here that if I have no WE I have no shot at NU?

I've seen 'em 5 or 6 times now. Met Wayne 3 or 4 times. One of the few shows I recommend to people as a must see if they get the chanceTim0thy222 wrote:I saw them in concert last year and he rolled right over me in that big plastic ball. He's seriously a very very nice guy. I'm from Oklahoma City and he's done so much to improve the culture of the city. He does an annual Halloween parade downtown now and for the past 4 years they've played in OKC for New Year's Eve. He still lives in the blue collar neighborhood he grew up in. He's starting doing art galleries. He did screenings of Christmas on Mars a few years back.Tim0thy222 wrote: Wow seriously? I'm jealous. I bet Wayne is pretty much the coolest person ever.

woo woo. In this morning. I haven't seen them accept many people with 167s. Mostly 168 and up, but I figured it was worth a shot since I got a fee waiver and had an off-campus interview. I have a lot of work experience and a 3.76. Here's to hoping!!!! Good luck everyone.

You might want to change the wording of "in this morning" to "submitted this morning" since people are going to interpret "in" as acceptance.sandwiches5000 wrote:woo woo. In this morning. Where's the admissions office relative to the main entrance off Chicago Ave? I remember you enter and there's the big staircase up to the library.

The admissions office is off that atrium with all the tables and people hanging out. I don't really know which entrance is the "main" entrance, so I can't be of more help.tmon wrote:Where's the admissions office relative to the main entrance off Chicago Ave? If you're coming in off Chicago, it's off to the right from that staircasetmon wrote:Where's the admissions office relative to the main entrance off Chicago Ave? I remember you enter and there's the big staircase up to the library.

Does anyone know if NU means 'non-refundable application fee' as in, 'we don't refund it if you don't get in' or as in, 'we don't refund it if you get a fee waiver after you've already submitted'?
I'm guessing it's the latter but hoping for the former...

A student found me looking lost and took me there. Another stopped me and pulled off a string she saw on the back of my skirt. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy about NU.Flips88 wrote:If you're coming in off Chicago, it's off to the right from that staircasetmon wrote:Where's the admissions office relative to the main entrance off Chicago Ave? I just had my interview Tuesday with an Admissions officer.tmon wrote:What do I need on my resume for the NU interview? I have work experience during and after college, volunteer and other activities I spent significant time doing, and some random stuff at the bottom about interests. Should I include my GPA? Something about LSAT?
I've looked over the questions in the OP and practiced some answers. Should I do anything else?
You do need a copy of your resume for the interview. They will send you an e-mail to remind you about the interview and to bring a copy of the resume. They also state that failure to bring said resume may affect the outcome of the interview.
I did not include my GPA or LSAT on my resume. You don't need to since you have to fill out a sheet asking for that information. I'd suggest including any minors or honors since the sheet doesn't ask for that.
I read the Ivey Guide for Law School Admissions and she has some tips about what to include/remove from a resume, PS and etiquette. She also has some sample questions and prepping for those helped. The book also has sample PS, Resumes etc.
Be prepared to address any weaknesses in your file, as well as explain "Why Law School?" "Why Northwestern?" My admissions officer did ask two or three questions I wasn't really expecting but nothing that I couldn't come up with an answer within a few seconds. Really getting to know what's on your resume as well as how you want to market yourself can help you answer any question.

I forgot, also be prepared to ask THOUGHTFUL questions about the school. Refrain from asking statistical questions or those with answers on the website/lookbook. The book I read also had a few sample questions. Once you finish, you can also ask those at the desk for a self-guided tour or when the next guided tour will be if you have time.tmon wrote:What do I need on my resume for the NU interview? If you can't make it to Chicago to do the interview in person, how detrimental might that be to your overall chances?

It shouldn't be a big deal unless you are ED-ing, in which case make sure it's an admissions officer.thelawschoolproject wrote:If you can't make it to Chicago to do the interview in person, how detrimental might that be to your overall chances?
