Not silence, rejections continue to trickle in.
i don't think anyone appreciates the rejection movement
Rejections mean she's closer to making acceptances?
I would assume Dean Deal is making her way through the soft hold pile and has begun pruning the pile, as it were.
are u sure she isn't just sending out rejections to the people who submitted later rather than those in the soft hold pile.

On LSN I see a number of rejections over the past 2 weeks from people who submitted in Oct/Nov/Dec. Some of those have to be soft holds.

Don't know if this has been answered, but does anyone have an idea whether most of the acceptances have been made already? Or is the majority of acceptances to be made soon?

I don't know exact numbers, but it seems to me that maybe half of acceptances have been made, out of a total of 380. Anyone can contradict this if I am wrong.

so i just went to lsn and although it is not representative...the amount of people still waiting had me so discouraged.

Does Stanford start giving out waitlists at any point? So far it's been either acceptances or rejections.

So obviously we're running off a small sample size here (maybe 10 percent of applications) but the lack of any movement in the last two weeks suggests to me that they're now reviewing the soft hold pile. Based on last years decision graph, my guess is its quiet for another two weeks and in the first week or two of april we get basically all the rest of the movement - primarily rejections and waitlists sprinkled with some acceptances. Fingers crossed!

Is this "soft hold" pile a real thing or a TLS fantasy?

Thanks for this. Also another gem on LOCIs:

First, let me apologize for the lengthy delay in getting back to you. We now have a very good process in place for reviewing these kinds of comments and I should be more timely in responding as a result.
Offers did not go out over the winter break, but rest assured that we picked up right where we left off and decisions have been going on in a consistent fashion since January 3.
If you’ve not heard from us, it is indeed appropriate to send in a letter of continued interest. While the primary reason of this letter is to show us that you remain interested in SLS, it also shows me that you are an active and engaged participant in this process. Many applicants take the approach of “I’ve done my part and now I just need to wait it out” or “I’ve met all the application requirements and I’ll just sit back and wait for SLS to do their part.” Fair enough. This approach works. However, is it a bad thing to stay a bit more engaged? You just need to exercise some good judgment, though, and decide how much is enough versus becoming a pain.

This has come up before in discussion. She's also been interviewed before saying that unless you have a special circumstance or something really different has happened in the past few months, then sending a LOCI won't do much. So who knows what her actual viewpoint is on LOCIs.
