I believe (but I could be wrong) that phillyr6 got invited, and he's got 4.0/170, I think. I'm not sure if you meant that invited people tended to be at/above BOTH 3.86 and 171, or just at/above one of those, but anyways, it's an example of someone below 170 getting invited.
Pretty sure R6 was in the deferred batch with me.

Edited for 170
Thanks! and Sorry, my post was unclear (actually, I just didn't say what I meant)
I wondered 1. How many people are invited and 2. What numbers the people who actually get the scholarship have

:)

To clarify, in order to be considered for merit-based aid, I need to submit a financial aid form? Is that a FAFSA? Do I do that through lsac or Cornell directly? Thanks. And congrats everyone. Anyone in thinking they're going to go?

Cornell will send you everything and you'll do a FAFSA too. It's all in the packet.

On vacation in a warm place on the Yucatan.

Oh what's that? In at Cornell too? I'll take that, thank you.

No invitation to apply for scholly though :( Is there any way to negotiate with them?

Yay, hopefully this means they're getting to the end of the EA pile and can start moving on to the late bloomers soon!

Well, I got invited to apply with 3.66 and 176, so both certainly aren't required, at least for the invitation.

I got the invitation to apply, and I have only a 3.5, so you definitely don't need both (maybe you do to actually get the scholarship and they just want to read 1,000 boring, identical essays :P)

In. Still terribly confused over what they actually use as a metric to admit people. :?

Seriously, ditto. Still kind of slightly turned off by the number of deferrals they did.

... But I'll probably get over it.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I wouldn't be too sure about that. I'm betting quite a few people applied just in time for EA deadline, i.e., between 11/1 and 11/15.

And, *cough*, some of us 12/7 complete's haven't had any movement yet. :?

Why the heck do they put more people into Review when some of us still haven't gotten decisions. Gaaaahhh.

In via email at 12:28pm pacific time. I didn't receive any scholarship notification so my assumption is that I will not be getting much money. 170/3.8x

I almost collapsed from hypothermia on my way to a final this morning. Winter sucks. (But Cornell is awesome! Please accept me).

+1, unfortunately. I submitted 10/13, complete 11/10, and under review 12/2 with no movement yet.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
