Unlike the BC and UVA rejections, this actually upsets me.
Um, what? Is this YP?

I'm not sure. I don't think my application was a mess because I have an acceptance at a higher ranked school (G-town) and a handful of others in the T-20/30 with $$.

Any chance I can get money off the waitlist? I doubt I would attend at sticker.

A lot of us wouldn't attend at sticker -- I have a friend with your exact stats more or less who was hoping for some kind of funding from UCLA. Can I ask some more details about your profile in private? Undergrad institution? Other factors? Because UCLA's decisions seem messed up.

Wonky, I feel like UCLA has a guillotine over there or something.

We (our apps) live to see another day.

Sorry for those in the WL wave, esp that 169/3.7 person because that can't be YP - dunno what that is...

Just got WL'd today. Not really too much of a surprise. Probably not going to follow up...ive already been admitted to other schools id choose over UCLA. Especially at the current tuition rates UCLA is charging. But its still a fantastic school if you're looking to work on the west coast. Good luck guys!

Is anyone planning to attend the Diversity Welcome Weekend (April 8-10)? Let me know, we can be roomies... or besties... or something.

did UCLA already fill their class up or something? Lots of people with really strong numbers keep getting the WL, which may as well be a ding.

I think they might not be as numbers focused. I got in as a january applicant within 2 weeks of applying, and my numbers are around those who are getting WLed... Maybe even a little lower... But yeah, I am quite surprised at UCLA too...

I am a science major too, with science/research related softs... I think that may have helped. Hopefully yours will help you, too. Noticed the double E major, that's impressive.

They like science, but that didn't stop them not liking r6_philly.

Philosophy they seem to love, though.

Well, I'm a philosophy and law major, 3.64, 172, applied early October and I have yet to hear back.... What does that say about my app? :|

Bah! I think they have a special rejection lined up for us. Maybe a call from Schwartz just laughing at us or something.

You know, I always envisioned the admission council in a dark dungeon that is barely lit from nearby candles. The smell of mold and wet stone fills the air while they sit around a big, round table in their ceremonial robes.....or they just sit at a cheap desk, in a square room that is overly lit by florescent lights, and throw darts at the wall while they eat chinese food to decide admits.

hahaha

I fully plan on surviving all those terrible WL/rejection waves. I don't have many other options. HAVE to go to LS in LA...(family stuff)

So.. you can ride out the waves too or get swept away with the others
