Been 12/2 under review with what is, according to their website, a 25th percentile LSAT and GPA just above the 50th. LSAT score really gives me very slim chances but it's a bit of a dream school for me. I'm surprised I haven't heard anything at all yet considering I applied ED back in November and got bumped to regular decision 12/15.

FWIW I'm 25<LSAT<50 with a GPA above 75th, and I've been stick at 12/15 as well

Yep. It seemed random as my application didn't specify interests that would relate in any way.

Yeah, I was mostly just chafing at the implication that someone with a 172/3.5 was going to get into law school due to their URM status and not because, you know, they have a 172/3.5.

I would hope that a 172/3.5 is solid for NYU law, as I have those same numbers.
But as a non-URM 172/3.5, I have a much lower chance that junglegeorge (thats all)

I am assuming he got the same email as me. I am admitted, did not apply for it, and the email is not actually asking me to apply, it just tells me about it. Which seems especially odd because the deadline seems to have been January 1st, but there is no mention of them ignoring that deadline.

I am a little confused to be honest.

So for people that have been complete for over a month now, do we think it's pretty much a guaranteed WL? I mean I like to think that they're only admitting their top choices right now and waiting for more applicants to be in before they start sending mass acceptances, but that might just be delusional/wishful thinking. Trying to decide if I should give up hope yet.

FWIW, I seem to be juuuust outside of the range of auto-admits so far. Like if my lsat was 1 or 2 higher, OR if my GPA was .1 or .15 higher I'd be in. So I like to think that means I have a good chance if most acceptances haven't gone out yet. But if they're still just holding onto WL's then I'm probably boned. After my WL at Columbia NYU is my top choice, so I'm really stressing about this

don't give up hope unless you're actually given a ding! i know that a lot of people with really strong apps who applied months ago haven't heard back - there's still time for a lot to happen. and if you do end up waitlisted, and nyu is your top choice, your chances of getting in eventually seem pretty good! their waitlist moves.
