I understand their thought process, but waiting until March is kind of ridiculous. I mean my interview was with a 2L, so it doesn't make sense to me that they wouldn't have any interviewers available for over a month....

Congrats to all of the new admits!

Submitted 11/18, Complete 12/18, 2nd Complete 1/21. LSAT/GPA right at the medians, Cornell is one of my top choices, really hoping to get accepted.

Is there a general agreement that people receive interview requests due to their higher numbers and YP purposes?

Yea, it's the wait that puts me off more than anything. Guess I've got til Monday to decide whether to schedule one or not.

Maybe that's the idea.

Cornell logic:

But seriously, I think they only have 2 students working with admissions, and they can only work 5-10 hours a week. Then they only have like 4 adcomms, thousands of applications to get through, and possibly hundreds of interviews already scheduled from previous waves. Yes, they should hire more people, but that's just how it is for now: slow.

Interview request today.

So um...when I was calling, I had my planner open to February by accident. I'm 99% sure I scheduled it for March, though. There's no way I scheduled it for February, right?

it's pretty ridiculous for any ivy league law school to be this understaffed

when is the ASW? seems like a lot of people would have to make last minute travel decision whether or not to make it...

There are two. First is on March 7th. People interviewing in March would likely have to opt for the April 11th one.

50-75th GPA, >75th LSAT. I thought I demonstrated a strong enough interest, but I'll take whatever the adcomm gods throw my way.

My interviewer gave hints that Cornell doesn't know how to make sense of this year's cycle. Said something to the effect that applications are actually on the rise this year compared to last. Take it with a grain of salt.

Am I correct in thinking that tuition for next year will be 57 and change?! Is there no ceiling?!

Yes. Possibly higher because the $57K figure was this year's tuition.

As long as people are able and willing to pay, schools will continue to raise tuition.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but pretty sure Cornell was one of a few schools last cycle to have increased their applications. Somewhat surprising they might be able to manage it again this cycle, but not like whoa wtf lol

Yeah, we had an increase of about 40 applications.

>75th LSAT, 26-49th GPA, I'm from the area, went to undergrad right next door, Cornell is the most sensible choice and yet for some reason I'm fearing getting YP'd.

Is it the plausibility of getting a solid scholarship with t14 numbers + dat ivy prestige? Admittedly, the latter factor does appeal to me in some way (The Harvard Law Just Kidding shirt...is a much cheaper option for people mainly after prestige :P)

At the same time, their 75ths and GPA medians took a hit, so maybe the quality of applicants still declined? I think most schools have been slow with scholarship information, haven't they?

Are Cornell's application numbers really going up? I've already gotten in but this has me worried for scholarship amounts...

You might not have that long to go then. I don't remember clearly, but I believe I've gone through three complete dates in three weeks (two within two days of each other).

Then comes the interview request, unless your numbers don't suggest YP.

After 3 complete dates is the consensus that a decision is imminent? if so, how long should I expect to wait still?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
