That made me laugh.sublime12089 wrote:This. You will never hear a school refer to URM's as "non-traditional students"

No status change on my status checker.... the online stuff is rather worthless throughout the process.

Is the most likely response a call if accepted and an email if rejected / waitlisted?michaelm55 wrote:No status change on my status checker.... the online stuff is rather worthless throughout the process.

Ya. They call you if accepted (sometimes after 5 p.m. CST) and you will get an auto-email in the morning if WLed or dinged. The Patriot wrote:Is the most likely response a call if accepted and an email if rejected / waitlisted?michaelm55 wrote:No status change on my status checker.... the online stuff is rather worthless throughout the process.

As of an hour ago I can vouch for the accuracy of this statement.

I know it was briefly mentioned earlier, but what's the range of schools UT will tango with concerning scholarship matching? I got a full-ride from Minnesota (don't ask me why because I don't know) and I'm hoping that will make them budge.

It's all in my profile. 3.76/166 (am a UMN alum but I'm not sure if that is actually relevant [edit: as I am now a texas resident, or should be])sublime12089 wrote:Would you mind divulging your approximate stats, either here or through pm. Considering they haven't been acknowledging UCLA full rides I can't see Minnesota motivating them.romanticegotist wrote:I know it was briefly mentioned earlier, but what's the range of schools UT will tango with concerning scholarship matching? And you got a full ride to Minnesota because you have a 166 and a pulse.

Haha true...they were holding fast at 167 for months but clearly that plan did not work out. Oh well; I'd love to stay in Austin but if they don't move then I may have to.BigZuck wrote:Considering they haven't been acknowledging UCLA full rides I can't see Minnesota motivating them.romanticegotist wrote:I know it was briefly mentioned earlier, but what's the range of schools UT will tango with concerning scholarship matching? Don't sell him too short now. They only offered me half tuition at a 169, so he must have done something right.BigZuck wrote:Considering they haven't been acknowledging UCLA full rides I can't see Minnesota motivating them.romanticegotist wrote:I know it was briefly mentioned earlier, but what's the range of schools UT will tango with concerning scholarship matching? Agreed. I only got 72K from Minnesota with a 168. I tried to negotiate and they didnt budge. I would have withdrawn but Im hanging on to a lot of schools because Im thinking that they may overestimate the number of people that end up attending their schools so they may up scholarship offers around deposit deadlines.

Thanks for the backup. I thought about getting uppity to defend my alma mater (considering that is something Texas alums are contractually obligated to do) but he is probably right. Wasn't making fun of Minn, I haven't followed them too closely this cycle but I know they were making it rain early on and recently heard they started throwing full rides at waitlisted 166s.
Objectively they are one of the biggest rankings gamers of all law schools however when it comes to manipulating medians.

I'll post here because this thread gets the most traffic- anyone want to hit up 6th street on Thursday night? Car has his party on Friday which is awesome but I think it would be a shame if we are all in Austin for two nights and only party for one.
Just a thought
