Accepted in October, officially withdrawn today to attend elsewhere. Hurt a little to back away from Cornell -- we were completely charmed by the place. Hopefully this opens the door for someone else -- best of luck to those still waiting!

You got into some very good schools with that LSAT. You do have a 3.9 GPA but still. May I ask where you're going? And if you got money? PM me if necessary.kingsfield69 wrote:Accepted in October, officially withdrawn today to attend elsewhere. Hurt a little to back away from Cornell -- we were completely charmed by the place. I decided on Harvard. It was always my #1 and a huge reach with my numbers, so when admission was offered, the cycle was over at that point. HLS doesn't do merit aid, but I'm hopeful they will continue participating in the VA Yellow Ribbon program, which helps guys like me with Post-9/11 GI Bill bridge between available funds and COA. I didn't get a lot of merit aid offers from T14, which is unsurprising with my numbers ... but I got some very nice $$ from some of the safeties.JesusChrist wrote:You got into some very good schools with that LSAT. Wow, congrats on Harvard! You must have some super softs or something, what do you think made you outperform your numbers by such a huge amount?

Holy crap that's amazing, especially as a non-URM. You think it was your essays or your softs that tipped the scales in your favor? I've hear military experience is looked upon very favorably.kingsfield69 wrote:I decided on Harvard. It was the softs. I've got some pretty unique stuff ... leadership experiences, etc. It was much more persuasive than I expected. Needless to say, I'm excited about HLS -- wish you all the best the rest of the way.JesusChrist wrote:Holy crap that's amazing, especially as a non-URM. Did you used to have a different profile? I feel like I recognize your 'tar from an LSAT waiting thread I was in some time ago.learntolift wrote:Admitted a few weeks ago early admission. Waiting for all responses to make a decision of course. But in the meantime, whatup
Oh, and finally went complete today. Dean's Certification held it up, still a big time reach unless GPA medians dropped.

Has anyone received an admitted student handbook? Is it different from the view book / offer more useful information? I was admitted a couple of months ago and am anxious to hear more about Cornell

Did you send them an e-mail pointing out that your score had come or something? They're still holding my app and it makes me sad.jcan91 wrote:Same although for me it was more like 11.... Re: Cornell c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
They actually updated me this morning. I had been held for that score from November. A couple of other schools waiting on my second score haven't updated yet though, so maybe give them another couple of days and shoot them an email next week if they don't update you. That's my plan for the others.North wrote:Did you send them an e-mail pointing out that your score had come or something? Checking in. App submitted today after getting Dec LSAT score. 171/4.0. Feeling relatively good but very late app and 167 on record makes me nervous. nyc resident here and trying to stay close bc my gf is here so really targeting Cornell/close schools.

Hey everybody, I have a request.
If anyone here has used mylsn.info (LinkRemoved) and it has proven to tremendously aid you in the law school admissions process, please consider voting for LSATSCORES2012 in this poll. He is the creator of this tool and because of the degree to which it has aided me in my application process, I feel he should without a doubt be the winner of the tittle, "Most helpful poster" for 2012. If you agree with me, please vote for him too.
Thanks!

For those of you who did a "Why Cornell?" essay, did you attach it separately or copy and paste it in the "Interest in Cornell" box in the application?
If you copy and pasted it, how long was it? Two or three sentences seems a bit too brief.
