I'm actually going to NYC after work, oddly enough. Having dinner literally next door to the law school at one of my favorite places to get a burger.tyler.durden wrote: Yeah it sure has, I'm hoping for that letter today!

if it's anything other than shake shack (perhaps bareburger) then that's going to be disappointingfrancesfarmer wrote:What place?shntn wrote:I'm actually going to NYC after work, oddly enough. Shake Shack is overrated. Or at least, their burgers are. So many other great burger places, although their shakes are pretty good.djwjddl wrote:if it's anything other than shake shack (perhaps bareburger) then that's going to be disappointingfrancesfarmer wrote:What place?shntn wrote:I'm actually going to NYC after work, oddly enough. I don't think I've ever eaten at that place, but I'm so cheap that whenever I'm in the village its Mamoun's or bust for meshntn wrote:Minetta Tavern.francesfarmer wrote:What place?shntn wrote:I'm actually going to NYC after work, oddly enough. I'll report back on how wonderful the Washington Square location is. That is one lovely part of the city, and I really don't say nice things about NYC very frequently.tyler.durden wrote:NIce, I need to visit soon, I'll be relying on y'all TLS'rs for the heads up on where to go!shntn wrote:I'm actually going to NYC after work, oddly enough. I got the call today, officially offering admissions, but I missed it and found the voicemail after. I'm not supposed to call back, right? I've missed my chance to shriek on the phone like a child who just got a new toy?
Also, I second shntn's post. I love Washington Square Park. It's been under renovations for a really long time now, so parts of it have been closed for years, but it should all be opening up pretty soon. Also, Mamoun's is great, so I'll second that as well. I haven't been to many burger places in the village so I don't know about those.
What I do know, is that there is an Indian foodcart on Washington Square South and Sullivan that is amazing. Really cheap and really delicious. I've gone there so many times now that the guy knows me, my brother, and my father by name and every time one of us goes, he asks about the others. Also, in the winter, he gives cups of hot soup to people waiting on line. He wins all kinds of streetcart awards (apparently those exist lol)

credited. Five Guys is better, bigger, and cheaper and they don't take half an hour to get your food out.remix wrote: Shake Shack is overrated. Or at least, their burgers are. So many other great burger places, although their shakes are pretty good.
If I'm paying shake shack prices and it's gonna take that long there are way better real places.
