I figured Cardozo wasn't really going to count. Hopefully I'll get something from NYU or Columbia, though I'm not expecting anything, and will be able to use that for negotiating. If not, the offer Fordham gave me is still solid. I'm grateful for it.

As an FYI, per dean brown, (except for those admitted friday) they're caught up on sending out schollys so if you did not get a (merit) scholarship and you received your acceptance before Friday, you're out of luck

To build on that, they haven't awarded the two full scholarships yet, but you can't get one if you're from NY.

I don't want to waste (potentially) several hours skimming through this thread for the scholarship info, but does anyone have a general idea of what kind of numbers would equate to what kind of scholly? I got in back in Nov. with 10k a year, originally didn't have much intention of going to Fordham but have since reconsidered based on a desire to be in NYC... I want to negotiate, given that 10k a year with NYC COL is STILL gonna leave you in the red compared to if u attend a comparable school, or T-14 at sticker. Has anyone succeeded negotiating with them? Also, would someone mind (if they're privy to such info) giving general #'s that might be associated with each tier of scholarship?

Here's a rough approximation on scholarships for the person who asked. I wouldn't expect more than 10k if you don't have a 168 or over or a 3.8 or over (with fair numbers accompanying them).JenDarby wrote:They're fairly splitter friendly, though they seem to tend toward higher LSATs when it comes to scholarships. There is never an exact formula, but I'd say as a rough estimate greater than a 166 (168 and above being at a higher frequency) and a 3.6 and above. If either your LSAT or GPA are very high you might slip by with the other being lower. Their scholarships tend to be on the lower end in general though.dingbat wrote:What are the numbers for a scholarship?
Also, they do negotiate, but I wouldn't expect more than a 5k/yr increase. To add to that, the schools that serve as great negotiating tools aren't going to be W&M, for example. I've seen BU used successfully on multiple occasions, and of course T-14s and the like are always useful. Somewhere like WUSTL, UIUC, or clearly IU-B, where LARGE scholarships are basically the standard also may not be the best negotiating tools either.

Congrats! It's certainly not impossible. As I said previously, and re-quoted, 166 is usually the LSAT breaking point for scholarships based on it. I also want to emphasize there's not generally an EXACT formula. You should all try to negotiate and shoot for as much money as possible.confusedlaw wrote:I got 15 with 167

What's your GPA?confusedlaw wrote:I got 15 with 167
If you ask the right person, they'll be quite blatant about the fact that schollys are used to buy GPA and LSAT
a 167 doesn't merit all that much, so I assume you've got a good GPA

Just withdrew with 15k in Scholarship money. Especially difficult after watching a bunch of episodes of Selling NY and with no better schools in NY offering me an acceptance to date, but considering my other offers I figured I should just do my part and free up a spot and some money for those of you who TRULY might use it
Best of luck, all!

That means you're above average, but within the 75% percentile for both scores.confusedlaw wrote:3.7
For now, I doubt you'll be able to get more.
But, this is a weak year for law school apps in general, so once we get closer to the April deposit date, you might have better luck asking to get it upped.

Nah. Probably GULC thanks to the scholarship they offered me. Nonetheless, either school seems like a more reasonable option than Fordham no matter how much I wanted to go to school in NYdingbat wrote:going to WUSTL?clarion wrote:Just withdrew with 15k in Scholarship money. Still waiting for my decision and realize my chances dramatically drop with each passing day. Not giving up tho, and here's some optimism to all TLSers still waiting to hear from any school high on their list. Just curious if anyone else with numbers at the median is still waiting?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
