Wow, my first TLS post! It's that line about "this week" in the blog post that did it.

So, do you guys think that emails will probably be sent between 9-5 EST, or would it be wrong to assume that the admissions staff is keeping normal hours at this point? At this rate I'm going to be checking my email when I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.

It will not hurt you to find out a few hours (or even a few days) after the fact. Chill out and enjoy your life.

deadluck: Prolonging this level of distress is actually very... well.... stressful, which is both physically and mentally harmful. I get that running around with our pants on fire isn't helping, but "just chilling out and enjoying" isn't quite as easy as you make it sound.

just cant wait for the waiting to be over, one way or another. if im not accepted outright, ill be committing to HLS. I was really impressed by their ASW and would like to start planning the move etc...but i'll hold out until Friday..in the off chance I get accepted

My guess is that they're international applicants or traveling abroad, somewhere with a big time difference (EMEA or Asia).

Doesn't matter. If the e-mail got sent/received at 3am eastern, it doesn't matter where the receiver is.

You're absolutely right, the time-stamp is what the time-stamp is.

But trying to help my commrades-in-arms, (in answer to the question about whether the emails were being sent at 4AM), my point is that I'm guessing that they weren't sent at 3 or 4AM, but rather sent during relatively normal YLS business hours, and that the posters posted about them at 3/4AM because they're abroad and where asleep when the emails where technically and actually sent by YLS and received by the applicant/admit's upstream mail-server.

EDIT: I know I at first thought that the prospect that admit emails had been going all night was sort of terrifying, and was (perhaps naively) comforted by the realization that the emails had probably been sent earlier and just not read until the admits woke up or whatever. Having said that, we'll know for sure soon enough.
