Is right after December score release considered late?

According to conventional wisdom it is, although I could be wrong? What do you guys think?

Also, I should clarify that my 3.2 GPA is actually from an international UG. My score is considered above average.

Agreed! The interview took me all of ~ 20 minutes. Get it done and feel like you gave your application your best shot. Which reminds me, I interviewed on january 28. When will I get response?
I interviewed on the 27th and received a response yesterday, if that helps!
a good response?
Yes!

Accepted yesterday with a 164 and a 4.05.

After Christmas is considered a bit late, but I don't think it makes a huge difference if you submit early January tbh

They give you 5 minutes to respond to 3 public policy/politics question. Not too bad. Another I saw on here was to give advice to a freshman looking to go to LS.

A small addition: the questions can be somewhat personal, too. Something where you could turn to your own experiences if you wanted. These were easier for me, I got only one political in nature.

Does anyone know the dress code for the accepted student reception in Boston (or any city)? I am unsure if I should wear business formal or casual. If someone with past experience could comment that would be great!

All 3 of my written questions were political, guess they have a large bank of questions.

I've been to grad school acceptance days before. In general err on the side of business formal. It is much easier to adjust and dress down (for a guy, you can unbutton the collar, loosen the tie, hold the jacket) then it is to dress up.

You've been accepted, you have already convinced them to take you. Now it's their turn. The point of these events is to woo you over to their side so you pay the excessive tuition rates. Don't dress in your lazy day sweats, obviously, but well-put-together casual outfits are fine. Avoid graphic tees and anything with unfinished hems or holes or tears, and anything that could be considered immodest, but that's about it. No need to go full business formal. Men don't need to wear ties, but a button down and slacks is nice. Women don't need to wear heels, but probably don't wear open-toe sandals. No one needs to wear a suit jacket, unless you are comfortable in them already and actually like to wear them.

This is my nightmare. I'm not even that interested in politics. :C I mean I read reddit news and hear the big things but I just have no idea how I would deal with that situation

were they softball or hardball political questions?
Mine were hardball. I think they want you to disseminate an opinion.

I wonder if the questions for these interviews are chosen at random or deliberately selected to flesh out each individual application according to what the reviewers find lacking about it.

Sup guys,
On the status checker it says my app is "on reserve." A quick search through this forum tells me that this means WL. Is that correct? I also saw that lots of people got an email letting them know they're on the WL, I haven't received anything from Cornell since I went complete. Anybody have any insight?

What should Cornell's response be to a competing scholly from UM/UCB/UVA?

Should they gtive nothing, match or give a bit more?

check your spam, trash and if you use gmail, check your All Mail. Search for the key word Cornell. If you don't find the email, call them.

Cornell gave me the same as Michigan. If I were to negotiate between the two, I would probably talk about COA. Cornell costs like 10-20k more

I wondered the same thing until I interviewed.

I went complete 1/09 and my status date changed today, but my current status still says "your application is ready for review." Any idea what this means/what I should be expecting? >Both 75ths.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
