Hey guys! My first time checkin in on this thread and I haven't really read it much. Have an Interview a week from today and from what I gather it's a pretty tough interview compared to others. How did your experience go? What's so tough about it? What should I look out for? Sorry I'm sure this has all been discussed before I just don't know where..

Re: Chicago C/O 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
In my experience the interview isn't tough really, just less personable than hls or cls. They clearly have a list of questions that they have to go through so the keep it moving and don't ask follow ups or go out of their way to make you feel at ease, but it is perfectly fine. At least that's my experienceSaul Berenson wrote:Hey guys! My first time checkin in on this thread and I haven't really read it much. Agreeing with everything that Gaga said. My interviewer was somewhat responsive to my answers so it probably depends on who you get, but prepare for no small talk at all. The typical interview questions are spread throughout this thread. Try looking at around January 25th -- I recall a lot of people posting their interview questions around then.Baby Gaga wrote:In my experience the interview isn't tough really, just less personable than hls or cls. Honestly Chicago was my favorite interview. It feels like an interview, not a conversation, but my interviewer was very friendly and personable!Dreadhead168 wrote:Agreeing with everything that Gaga said. I agree actually. My interview was efficient and focused, not tough but straightforwardly an interview. It made me like them even more. I feel like that's more my style anyway.purplerain237 wrote:Honestly Chicago was my favorite interview. Yeah my interviewer definitely had a script, but it flowed relatively naturally? Like when it was necessary she interjected just not quite as randomly as other ones. It felt efficient.
In other related news I went UR 2 on Friday, which was after my interview request was sent but before my interview.

Seconding this. My interview was pretty quick/efficient, but it flowed well and felt easy. All the questions were likely standard but the prompts were tailored to me - she mentioned my undergrad school and work history when asking.

Anyone know when scholly info tends to come out? I tried looking on the website but couldn't find it for some reason. LSN has people with similar numbers to mine receiving some money so I want to make sure I haven't missed out.

Looks like Feb. 22 last year for non-Ruby and accepted first wave. That's all I know fwiwQuestion12345 wrote:Anyone know when scholly info tends to come out? I think one of my admitted student emails said early March. Today's the deadline for their financial aid application, by the way.poptart123 wrote:Looks like Feb. 22 last year for non-Ruby and accepted first wave. I'm hoping it's not a reserve wave, but given how many people it happened to yesterday I'm not getting my hopes up :/patttt wrote:just noticed that I also went UR2 yesterday.. no interview request

How long does it usually take after an interview to hear back?

Today may be the financial aid deadline for the accepted first wave, but for everybody else it's two weeks after they've been accepted. It's February 27th for the wave admitted on Feb. 13.forum_user wrote:I think one of my admitted student emails said early March. Re: Chicago C/O 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Just had my interview earlier this morning. I would definitely echo what others have said here in that it was not very conversational but rather focused. My interviewer did comment few times on things I said and incorporated specific items from my application into her questions, but for the most part once I was done answering a question she would go on to the next one. It was very much like a professional interview.

Does anyone know if UChicago has awarded substantial scholarships and grants to international students in the past? I am an international student from China and attending an Ivy League school. Accepted this Monday, both LSAT and GPA at 75%.

Do Rubys come out with an acceptance or in a separate email?

seems to be a separate phone call, which I would is assume is followed by documentation...would not come with the acceptance email.Whittie wrote:Do Rubys come out with an acceptance or in a separate email?

Does that phone call come later in the cycle usually, or at the time of acceptance?acz26 wrote:seems to be a separate phone call, which I would is assume is followed by documentation...would not come with the acceptance email.Whittie wrote:Do Rubys come out with an acceptance or in a separate email?
