It's spooky but a ding wave just went out at Yale.

If you watch How to Get Away with Murder, you'll know why they don't allow folks to withdraw via phone.WinterComing wrote:I called and confirmed it was a WL. still nothing here either, at this point are they really going to accept any more people? seems a bit sadistic to reject the rest of us day by day last week.

If you're wlisted would they let you know. or could it be that you can only find out via calling them?

When the status checker goes to DLS, it's either a waitlist or a ding. There are only two ways to figure out which: either call (or maybe email?) to ask or wait for the letter via snail mail.rachelql wrote:If you're wlisted would they let you know. or could it be that you can only find out via calling them?

You only see DLS on status checker and have to call them to find out. Or just wait for the letter to arrive I guess.rachelql wrote:If you're wlisted would they let you know. or could it be that you can only find out via calling them?

All my dates are in my LSN profile linked in my TLS profile. But once they've held you for this last round of review, I think the dates are pretty meaningless.Oskosh wrote:Can you guys include your complete dates? Trying to find a method to their madness lol.
ETA: I know that some of you (winter et al lol) have amazing options, so don't let the DLS bum you out. Y'all are great!

How Winter didn't get accepted upon submission with Stanford's first ever merit aid offer I will never understand... This process is just insanely whacky.WinterComing wrote:All my dates are in my LSN profile linked in my TLS profile. Could you let me know if they acknowledge your withdrawal? I tried withdrawing a few weeks ago and never got a response not sure if I should awkwardly follow up on that or give them a bit more time.

Yeah, actually, they responded within five minutes with an email saying good luck at Yale. Almost made me feel guilty for being so frustrated with their process.jetsfan1 wrote:How Winter didn't get accepted upon submission with Stanford's first ever merit aid offer I will never understand... Pretty sure they're holding my application only to decide whether to reject me or give me a spot on the waitlist. They've waitlisted way more impressive candidates than my sad self...

I'm sure that I'm in the same boat, they have both WL'd and dinged folks that have me strictly dominated numbers-wise.sockstcat wrote:Pretty sure they're holding my application only to decide whether to reject me or give me a spot on the waitlist. I'm thinking the same thing too. I've been under review since early December, but at least I never realistically expected to get into SLS, so I find their admissions process more bemusing than stressful.sockstcat wrote:Pretty sure they're holding my application only to decide whether to reject me or give me a spot on the waitlist. I'm going crazy. Under review since 10/3 and STILL NOTHING. I logically should give up hope but a small part of me wants to think it's possible...

Same. If I don't get into S, I have other good options (so I'll be able to rationalize it to myself). But getting into S would make it a top contender for me.mdrell92 wrote:I'm going crazy. Same here. It was my top choice going in, and even though I'll be happy if I don't get in, it's really odd because I thought I had a pretty decent shot but the weeks have just gone by...

Do we think that it is more likely that they are holding our apps because we are on the cusp of WL/Acceptance or WL/rejection?

Re: Stanford C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016 cycle)
I can't speak to anyone else's chances, and I have no reason to think that everyone left is in the same situation as I am. But for my app, I'm thinking WL/rejection. I don't think many folks get into SLS with a sub 3.3 gpa.cc1012 wrote:Do we think that it is more likely that they are holding our apps because we are on the cusp of WL/Acceptance or WL/rejection?
But then again black boxes gonna black box.

I think WL/Rejection. Just doesn't make any sense to me they'd take this long and still deciding to accept someonecc1012 wrote:Do we think that it is more likely that they are holding our apps because we are on the cusp of WL/Acceptance or WL/rejection?
