Unless they're re-reviewing reserve applications in some order similar to when people were placed on the list, I doubt you'll get that e-mail. Its pretty explicit in "earlier in the admissions process." If you sent an LOCI at about the point they're starting to review, they have no need to confirm you are still interested.ku546 wrote:I sent a LOCI 4/28 as well and have not gotten the "we are about to begin re-review" letter. Kinda curious if this was a mass email to all reserves/LOCI submits or if I'm on the fast track to a decision. Also had a status update 4/29.
Hello ---, and thank you for your email. We have made note of your continued interest, and will be in contact with you with an updated decision later in the admission process. Updated transcripts and/or additional letters of recommendation should be processed through LSAC. Updates from you (resumes, letters of continued interest) may be emailed to jdadmissions@cornell.edu.
Thank you for emailing (my name). Your letter of continued interest will be added to your file.

I got this email as well (same day as you), sent in my LOCI and updated resume after receiving the email.Superstaranonymous wrote:Received the following email last Tuesday 4/28:

Received extension and fee waiver for application (feb lsat taker). Applied in March. Still no decision. I think for those of us still waiting, based on past years' threads, we are headed to reserve...

When are people on reserve thinking about sending in LOCI? Is anyone visiting the school?

Eh. I'm so tempted to send in another LOCI but there's nothing really to say that I haven't already said. It might just make me seem a bit too desperate (which of course I am, but they don't need to know).Hispaniclaw wrote:When are people on reserve thinking about sending in LOCI? As for visiting, its waaaaaay too late for that. I'm guessing they've already started to review the reserve list.

Re: Cornell c/o 18 Applicants
I thought the general consensus was to send in a LOCI every 3-4 weeks even if you don't have anything to say other than "I'm still really interested." I also think visiting never hurts, although it's probably not worth it unless you live relatively nearby.PumaPounce wrote:Eh. It just seemed weird to send a letter without anything substantial to say. But then again, maybe I'm just being shy.usn26 wrote:I thought the general consensus was to send in a LOCI every 3-4 weeks even if you don't have anything to say other than "I'm still really interested." What format did you all use in the letter? I'm unsure if I have to add all the formal stuff like this:
First and Last Name
Applicant Address
Phone Number
email address
LSAC Number
X School of Law
School Address
email address?
Tuesday, May 5th, 2015.

Haha, no worries. I was just confused since I didn't think I'd heard about a Cornell wait list.sashafierce wrote:Just got in off the reserve list!

Yes I did, I just used a sample LOCI that I found on TLS. It was very generic to be honest. Got into Gerogetwon and Cornell off the waitlist/reserve with it so lol maybe it was pretty good.

Yaaaas2013 did you see a date change on your status checker before your acceptance? And congratulations you must be excited!
And it looks like URM candidates are hearing back first. I'm assuming Cornell has the lsat/gpa median it wants and is now just making minor tweaks to ensure the class looks well rounded.

Re: Cornell c/o 18 Applicants
Just withdrew and put big $$$ back in the pool -- best of luck to everyone still waiting! There will almost certainly be movement -- the T6 is now dipping into their waitlist, so spots are freeing up for many other schools.
ETA: Yes, it's definitely too early to assume anything about LSAT/GPA; this is a high-risk time for Cornell, because many of their higher numbers are hearing back from reach schools/waitlists. As small as Cornell's class size is, 10 170+ admits withdrawing can have a pretty huge impact on %iles.

Re: Cornell c/o 18 Applicants
Question for those on the reserve / wait list who sent LOCI's: How quickly did Cornell respond to acknowledge that they received your letter and put it in your file? When I sent my first LOCI about six weeks ago, Cornell got back to me within a day (pretty typical of them with my other miscellaneous communication here and there as well), but for my second LOCI which I sent a full week ago, I still have not received a response from them. I even sent them a follow-up "did you receive my LOCI" e-mail a few days after, but still nothing. Feels very odd, and I was just wondering if anyone else had a long turnaround time in receiving a response from Cornell.

I emailed them something last week and didn't get a response, either. I finally got a reply this morning.MurdockLLP wrote:+1lsbd123 wrote: When I sent my first LOCI about six weeks ago, Cornell got back to me within a day (pretty typical of them with my other miscellaneous communication here and there as well), but for my second LOCI which I sent a full week ago, I still have not received a response from them.

Re: Cornell c/o 18 Applicants
I actually got in this Wednesday with literally no date change on my status checker since 3/03 when I went complete. I was never put into a reserve group or anything similar. So maybe if you haven't heard anything they are making some calls.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
