Buckle up for the long run... Six weeks is still in the first trimester.Nonconsecutive wrote:Yeah, 6 weeks is seriously not even in the realm of needing to be concerned yet.w0w wrote:ummmm....no.The Argus wrote:Yesterday marked 6 weeks since I went complete...should I give up on a JS1?
The way things are shaping up, anytime before the deadline is probably okay.Philafaler wrote:So I'm waiting on my final LOR before I submit my applications right now, and I'm trying to decide whether/how much to press the professor.
At what point am I late applicant? Will I be ok if I get it in by Christmas?
A simple reminder is fine, but otherwise, don't rush the prof. Yep, it's fine to have it in by Christmas. Apps are typically considered very early before Halloween, early before Thanksgiving, and on time before Christmas.Philafaler wrote:So I'm waiting on my final LOR before I submit my applications right now, and I'm trying to decide whether/how much to press the professor.

It's funny how if someone were to submit now, it would still not be considered late, yet it feels like apps have been open and decisions have been going out forever. Makes you realize how early in the cycle we are.hillz wrote:Apps are typically considered very early before Halloween, early before Thanksgiving, and on time before Christmas.

It'll really depend on your numbers... Most people who have gotten JS1s so far are above one or both medians. Even for those above both medians, the wait seems to be 2-3 waves from complete. If you went complete today, it'll be a while yet, most likely in 2015.johmica wrote:Applied 11/24 and went complete today. The most recent complete date to get a JS1 was 11/20, and they received a request on 12/4; there haven't been any JS1 waves since then. I'd start worrying when similar complete dates start receiving JS1s and you don't. (I'm coming up on that next week ahhhh).johmica wrote:Applied 11/24 and went complete today. Of course even if your completion date gets passed over you do not have to immediately enter panic mode. At least that is what I keep telling myself.pylon wrote:The most recent complete date to get a JS1 was 11/20, and they received a request on 12/4; there haven't been any JS1 waves since then.
