Dean Perry is awesome.FuriousDuck wrote:Yeah, my interview with Chicago was a lot easier, and probably better as well. My Chicago interviewer seemed a lot more interested in what I had to say than my Harvard interviewer. I interviewed with the Chicago Assistant Dean of Admissions and I remember getting the feeling that she was leaning towards accepting me withing the first couple minutes of admission.

This is funny to me. My Chicago interview was probably the worst interview I've ever had, whereas my Harvard interview was perhaps the best.
Made my Chicago waitlist relatively expected.

Interview went well I think. It helped that they asked almost exactly what I was told they'd ask. TLS is the best for that stuff. Back to waiting.

Does anyone have any guesses on when the next round of decisions will be?

I want to say mid February, but I'm not 100% sure if that's right.applelover wrote:Does anyone have any guesses on when the next round of decisions will be?

UR4 1/24. I really hope they're not gonna leave that until mid-February!

My interview was good. But WL was still there.DrStudMuffin wrote:This is funny to me. My Chicago interview was probably the worst interview I've ever had, whereas my Harvard interview was perhaps the best.

My instinct, in conjunction with several pms from people who got waitlisted as well, tells me that Chicago practiced YP.

A simplified model:malleus discentium wrote:Not to hijack this thread, but does anyone know why is Stanford's yield so comparatively low?nothingtosee wrote:Off-topic:
But the argument of "Chicago is smaller so more selective than H, which goes on numbers" doesn't really make sense considering that Chicago offers 836 (of which 196 matriculate) and Harvard offers 858 (of which 568 matriculate)...unless I'm missing something.
FYI
Yale Yield - 83%
Harvard Yield - 65%
Stanford Yield - 45%
Just about rest of T14 Yield - 20-25%
Yale admits 200 students -> all 200 matriculate = 100% yield
Stanford admits all 200 that get into Yale, and then 200 more -> 200 matriculate = 50% yield
Harvard admits all 400 that get into Stanford/Yale, and then 600 more -> 600 matriculate = 60% yield
A much higher percentage of Stanford admits have other good options (Yale acceptances/T14 full-rides) than Harvard admits do due to SLS's small size. This makes it possible for Stanford to have a lower yield than Harvard even if every single applicant would choose SLS over HLS.

Quick question. How long have most people waited to go complete? In the What to expect thread it was about 2 weeks. My application has been in a "received" state since 1/10 and I'm starting to get a little nervous (read: have been neurotic through this whole process). Thanks

hey guys
I have an upcoming skype interview, and was wondering if I should buy&use a headset microphone or if the built-in mic will be enough.

Re: Chicago c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014)
I went complete the next day, but I applied back in October. In your case, I don't think you would be out of line to give admissions a call and just ask if there's anything else you need to complete your app. I did that with Northwestern, and it turns out there was just some clerical hang-up. The receptionist did something and I went complete.webbdp3 wrote:Quick question. How long have most people waited to go complete? In the What to expect thread it was about 2 weeks. The interviewer used one during my interview, but I just talked into the built-in mic on my laptop. He never asked me to repeat myself, so I was probably yelling at my computer making sure I was being clear. God, my interview went terribly.dlrbfl wrote:hey guys

Re: Chicago c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014)
The built in is fine - just be prepared to use earbuds if you notice a lot of feedback. Shouldn't be an issue, but it depends on the acoustics of where you do the interview. They won't care if you have earbuds in.dlrbfl wrote:hey guys

I'm in the same boat. I've been under the assumption that they're working on processing a bunch of the prior submissions and will get to the December LSAT round in the near future...webbdp3 wrote:Quick question. Had my interview yesterday and UR updated shortly after. How long has it generally been taking to get the decision after the interview?

Had interview yesterday, went so-so. Rushed answers, asked 3-4 questions, and still only lasted about 16 minutes. Oh well, can only wait and see now. Interviewer was nice btw. Most of the questions have been talked about in this thread and the other interview one. Still find the 'greatest accomplishment', 'inspirational person', and 'notable class moments' as tough even with a little thought and prep.
