Am I supposed to contact the interviewer myself first? Or am I to receive something? I have his name and email, but no location.

You need to contact them to set up the interview. I offered a few dates that worked well in my schedule, but also said I was flexible. We were able to find a time pretty easily via email, and met about a week later.

I'm not one to use twitter that much. Is there an app or method to setup a notification to my phone when Johan tweets?MnM22 wrote:+1,000jk148706 wrote:Can we please give the people what they want today?

Thanks everyone for the advice on this. I'm thinking I go slacks, pressed shirt, tie, and a sweater. Still kinda formal but no suit like she had mentioned. Different offices have different dress codes, cultures, overall atmospheres, etc. Interviews are usually more friendly and casual (read: more fun for the interviewer, which is better for you) when the dress is a bit more casual. My guess is she is going for that sort of interview, and wants you (and herself) to be comfortable.
I think your best bet is to do what she says and not suit up. You would be fine wearing dress slacks, a pressed shirt, tie, and perhaps a v-neck sweater or something along those lines.
I agree that if the interviewer explicitly told him not to suit up, he shouldn't. But again, she said he didn't have to, never said not to.
In this particular case, as she explicitly said that you (collegestudent) don't have to suit up, you'll be fine either way. Just go with what you're more comfortable with (business casual or business professional). Either way, hope you kill the interview!

If you are comfy in that, go for it. I work for a big firm, slacks and shirt are fine, but if you feel that that's underdressing, just go with what's comfortablec0llegeStUd3nt wrote:Thanks everyone for the advice on this. Re: Northwestern Law c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
I interviewed (for a different school) with an attorney at his (major) law firm, and he gave me a very specific "don't wear a suit" and "just wear what you're in for class that day." I lol-nope'd to the last part, but kept it to slacks and a nice shirt. He was wearing slacks, nice shirt, and sweater. All in all I think I was dressed appropriately, and that going more formal would have made things more stiff and uncomfortable, which would have led to a worse interview.AstonMartin177 wrote:Different offices do have different dress codes, cultures, etc. but they are meeting at the interviewer's law firm. Could there really be two waves in one week? I figured Johann was just releasing decisions on Wednesdays... which is awful news on a Friday.jstep wrote:Ugh. Gotta be decisions coming out by the end of tomorrow. Gotta be.

Do they immediately accompany the status checker update with an email? Or is there a delay between the two?

Just had a status change from mid December to 01/24. Still "Application Complete," though. Brace yourselves...

So. I know it's way too early now, but I wanted to have a timeline in mind because I've seen several people interview and go complete the same day. This indicates to me that as soon as the interviewer files her/his report, the status checker should update.
I interviewed Tuesday 1/21. At what point, if any, should I reach out if still incomplete?
Should I reach out to Admissions or to my Interviewer?

Dinged last night. Not surprising since I was <50% for both GPA and LSAT.
Best of luck to those of you still waiting!
