Re: Stanford c/o 2017 (2013-2014 applicants)
Sort of a weird question but for those who were submitted, did your email address (as its displayed in your status checker) change to lowercase letters? A friend of mine told me that this was the "status checker hack" when he was applying and I'm wondering if it still works? Apparently once Stanford had made a decision, your email address would be changed from all caps to lowercase letters and you'd get a decision within a day or two thereafter.
if DLS + lowercase letters --->in
if DLS + no change ---> Ding/WL
Thought it was interesting and was wondering if anyone could confirm?

I have not been admitted, my email is in lowercase letters though. I didn't notice it before, so I can't say if it has changed. Is your email all uppercase?webbdp3 wrote:Sort of a weird question but for those who were submitted, did your email address (as its displayed in your status checker) change to lowercase letters? Didn't that glitch get fixed?

Yeah, it's been fixed. People with lowercase emails probably started off that way; there were a few like that last cycle too, and they were all furious because the emails did change before a phone call and so they couldn't tell in advance.drawstring wrote:Didn't that glitch get fixed?

Mine is also in lowercase, and IIRC it has been for a long time. No decision.Kobaine51 wrote:I have not been admitted, my email is in lowercase letters though. Aw, come on. As last year's applicants can attest, it is just not the Stanford thread without freakouts about the status checker every page! The lowercase/upper case debate is classic and soon someone will panic that they can't log into their status checker. It's practically tradition at this point!Sourrudedude wrote:Not this again.webbdp3 wrote:Sort of a weird question but for those who were submitted, did your email address (as its displayed in your status checker) change to lowercase letters? I saw this post without realizing that you were responding to the poster above you and nearly had a heart attack. Well, that was fun.drawstring wrote:Decision letter sent

Surprised to see no action today. I guess they are on a new schedule?

Re: Stanford c/o 2017 (2013-2014 applicants)
I got a phone call during an interview today. My phone was in my back pocket on vibrate. And I sat there thinking:
wait, what? all my friends either know where I am or know better than to call me. It's 4:30. I haven't been online since this morning I don't know what's going on. Who could be calling me at 4:30?
Stanford. Stanford is calling me.
Left the interview.
It was my grandmother.
She had butt dialed me.

Indeed. Weren't the tea leaves strongly suggesting the 30 was going to be a big day?LSAT9986 wrote:Surprised to see no action today. I guess they are on a new schedule?

Yes. Surprising how Yale and Stanford have been quiet. Last year the 28th-30th as seen on LSN were big days.

My IRL friends think I'm nerotic for checking my checkers every morning. Then I read posts on TLS like the ones found on this page, and that's when I know I am still sane.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
