The e-mail they sent out said business casual. I attended one earlier and wore a shirt and tie, the other five guys I saw did the same. I would say a jacket would be a bit much.porch wrote:What do we wear to the group interview? Is this a suit up occasion, shirt and tie and jacket? shirt and tie, shirt and just jacket? ahhhhh
Good luck though! Some interesting facts Dean Cornblatt said that he is planning on interviewing 1000 applicants in group interviews this year (in comparison to 700 last year), and that the group interview acceptance rate is higher than the average applicant.
I also heard from a friend in the admissions office that Georgetown has not seen a decrease in admissions numbers this year, for what it's worth.

This is of interest to me. Maybe we could look in last year's thread?wbrother wrote:Has anyone received scholarship information? Does anyone know when recent admits should expect scholarship information?

News about $$$ doesn't come out until February.
What do you mean by admissions numbers? The number of applicants or Georgetown's medians?muskies970 wrote:I also heard from a friend in the admissions office that Georgetown has not seen a decrease in admissions numbers this year, for what it's worth.

So the rule is three completes (i.e. date changes) after the group interview?
Just wondering.

What is the consensus on being invited to a group interview vs individual?muskies970 wrote:Some interesting facts Dean Cornblatt said that he is planning on interviewing 1000 applicants in group interviews this year (in comparison to 700 last year), and that the group interview acceptance rate is higher than the average applicant.
Is there a trend either way?

Got an email yesterday about interviewing. I assume I won't hear from the interviewer until after the holidays. How badly will this hurt my chances, since it will certainly delay the application review?

If they tweak your address on your third update, that means you are getting an acceptance letter, right?

Finally made an account! Has anyone had their final update on 12/10 with nothing afterwards?

Will they give me a stipend to defray my travel expenses for DSW?Wormfather wrote:Sorry, I was trolling to add a little levity. It seems that merit scholarship offers started coming out around March 1st... and only a handful at that.Cicero76 wrote:This is of interest to me. I'm envisioning a giggling Dean Cornblatt torturing applicants via acceptance letters on the end of a fishing rod, then rejecting them after a few tries.Wormfather wrote:Sorry, I was trolling to add a little levity. Is ~10+ days an unusual amount of time to wait to hear back about an alumni interview? Got my third update a while back and it was followed by an interview request (which I obviously said yes to) but I haven't heard a thing since.
Does this warrant a follow-up email or phone call or is this normal?

That is about how long it took for me, and my interviewer contacted me the day that he heard from Georgetown.jcan91 wrote:Is ~10+ days an unusual amount of time to wait to hear back about an alumni interview?
