Was this based off your Northwestern scholarship or something else?emkay625 wrote:Negotiation complete! They didn't offer me much, but they did offer me something, so I can't complain. Very happy with how quick the process was.

Don't you want to sit around for another three years (or more) and say things like:
"Retake, ED UVA"
"Cool" "Story" "Bro"
And become proficient in acronyms and jargon such as "TITCR" "TTTT" and "tl;dr"?
All the while spending WAY to much time on this sight when you could be making friends with the sun?
For you, all this has passed you by... what a shame.

Nothing in CASH.
This, in addition to hearing nothing from UCLA yet, and the upcoming seat deposit are making me think I will not have a chance to negotiate or do the matching program.
W&M doesn't count as a peer school, right?

Re: Texas 2011-2012 Applicants
I got into Texas a month or so ago, but assumed I wasn't going there with them only offering me a $9.5K annual merit scholarship. Well, after coming home today from a long law school road trip (which DIDN'T include Texas), I came across a letter on my desk from Texas offering me an additional $48K NRTE scholarship. Blindsided, to say the least.

So you used W&M and they got back to you in a day and it worked?T00L wrote:they literally did mine in a day.Olive wrote:Nothing in CASH.

oh sorry, let me rephrase: I was worried that I was running out of time for negotiations, but when I finally got it all in, they replied in literally 22 hours with a (small) increase.Olive wrote:So you used W&M and they got back to you in a day and it worked?T00L wrote:they literally did mine in a day.Olive wrote:Nothing in CASH.

William and Mary was a part of what I sent them, but I sent them everything just to be sure. I think it was more about WUSTL/GW/USC $$ that did it for me, but I also think if I had done it weeks ago i might have gotten more money out of them.
All I was trying to tell you was you could most likely push a response to the seat deposit until the last minute (PROBABLY) because their financial office is very quick.
All that being said, don't go to UCLA even if you get in.

I see, thanks.
I'm stressed because I only have the W&M offer in. I'm waiting to hear back from UCLA. And since I can only send in the request once I wanted to wait until I hear from UCLA. But I'll probably send in only the W&M offer tomorrow because I'm running out of time.
It's probably impossible to get anything from negotiations after sending in the seat deposit, isn't it?
UGH! I'm poor, I need more money, UT!

If I were you I would ask if paying the UT deposit precludes your ability to send a matching request. If not, you should pay the UT deposit on time and wait for UCLA (When did you apply?).Olive wrote:

Obviously, it's your choice if you want to send the W&M money, but I don't think its going to do you ANY good by itself. (Unfortunately harsh reality).

Yes, I have thought about doing that. Very hard decision, but I just withdrew. I hope that one of your gets my spot and scholarship money. Chose to withdraw mainly because of the "regionalness"...and I'm not sure I will be practicing in Texas

Finally got CASH fixed (two phone calls later). Chick I talked to was pretty rude, but I got some need based aid (not much, but some).

Re: Texas 2011-2012 Applicants
What do we need to do after we pay a deposit?
I know we need face picture and letter of intent but that's done in the summer right?
