Complete on 1/12, then nothing... no change since then? Bad news?

Probably not. I applied late October, been UR since 11/14. UVa's giving me a scholly so I figure I'll probably get in. Duke's just taking their sweet sweet time.

No I wasn't PT, and still don't know what qualified one to get PT status. Honestly I'm pretty shocked by this turn out- I was pretty confident I would be accepted. The email was strange. It seemed to be indicating that they would continue to review my app throughout the process and let me know when they "reach a final decision". Of course they invited me to send in more documents relevant to the review process. It doesn't seem like they are going to wait until they've looked at everyone, necessarily, before reviewing my app again though. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with Duke's waitlist?

Hmm maybe they put you on hold, not a WL just yet. Did you send in your grades from last semester? a 3.5 seems a little low for Duke, but then again you have a high LSAT.

They used the term "waitlist", but the way they described it seemed a lot more like a hold. Yeah, I did send in my grades from last semester already, and the 3.5 reflects that. I figured the GPA was a bit low, but that it would be made up for by the relatively high LSAT... apparently I was wrong. I'm going to send in a LOCI and an additional LOR and hopefully that will turn the tide in my favor.

Thanks, my UR dates were 1/30 and 2/2... my status checker changed today to "decision made; email sent"

Hmm well since you were October and ND was January, I think it's safe to say that UR date doesn't matter

At what point do we contact the admissions office about our apps? I've been UR since 10/24

yes, i'm wondering if we're still under consideration, or if they're just postponing the reject/waitlist notice.

Dean Hoye said that RD applications take longer than 12 weeks bc they give preference to JD/LLM who start in summer, then their two batches of ED, and PT

Thanks for the info - it just seems weird that plenty of people with later complete dates and UR dates have gotten the gamut - acceptances, WL and dings.
