For some reason, I thought VCE's were smaller.addy11 wrote:I think it's my iPhone. I tried to do the same thing with the Big Purple from NYU and it came out bluish.dakure wrote:Thats not the traditional VCE...
I certainly wouldn't say it's vomit colored, though.

Thank you dear! And congrats, Ceraldean!LaCumparsita wrote:I'm not sure why, but I am really really amused right now! That envelope is not really the color of vomit! I was thinking more puke-green! Congrats addy
The envelope is sort of a very slightly greenish gold. I just went "Decision Finalized" at USC yesterday, so knowing that one of their colors is gold I just thought they overnight shipped a packet or something.
Also, for those wondering. It was postmarked 1/24

Ok I know what amuses me, namely the picture:
1) The envelope is destroyed, and you can barely tell that it's from Columbia... the picture was obviously taken in excitement too.
2) There is a coupon for a discount on a subscription to The New Yorker
3) There is some kind of giant, white, cartoon dog on the campus map
LOL! And congrats to you too cerealdan!

If I recall correctly from last year's VCE-meltdown thread, the first day was only NYC people and then they started arriving elsewhere over the course of the following days. Then again, this cycle has been bizarre so who knows what to expect.

NYC area and no VCE today...
Do they come in waves throughout the week?
EDIT: Not IN NYC, but within the immediate tri-state area...

Yeah, I was skimming through last year's thread and I know that there were at least two postmark dates that first week.Elendil wrote:NYC area and no VCE today...![]()

That giant white dog would be the cover of the New Yorker that the discount came from...ten points for deductive skills.

So I can respond to all of these:LaCumparsita wrote:Ok I know what amuses me, namely the picture:

1) I totally wrecked the envelope, but to be fair it was crunched up inside my very small NYC mail box, so it was already torn.
2) That coupon was used to cover my personal information on the "V"CE
3) There is no map

First - good luck to all those waiting. I hope all of you get in!
Weird question. I applied ED, and received a response in November. I went into my email today to read it (so as to start writing a LOCI), and it's gone. Maybe I woke up in the middle of the night in rage and got rid of it, who knows. Either way, I have no idea what my status is. I know I didn't get rejected -- does that mean deferred? Do they read my app again in April?
woops!

Since the letter is dated on the 24th, I imagine they should be going out over the next three days?

When should us already accepted EDers expect to receive our full admissions packets? Do you think they send them out with the VCEs?

Is it kind of sad that this thread just brought tears to my eyes for Addy? I've been following your cycle somewhat closely and I'm just so happy for you! Even though I have not a fucking clue who you are. Major congrats to you and whoever else was already accepted.
I have a friend IRL named Addy so the S/N always stuck out. (Now I sound like a freak stalker, excuse me while I go jump)

For various reasons I was sort of an outside shot at CLS, so I hope a lot of people will be equally floored and excited when they hear good news this week which they weren't expecting

Re: Columbia c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
That is extremely sweet! The TLS community is something else. I'm afraid to go to law school and encounter people who are cut throat because I have been completely overcome by how kind and supportive everyone on here is. I remember so many horrible LSAT practice tests, and agonizing over past mistakes and convincing myself that CCN were just never going to happen. I feel really lucky, and I am humbled by the support on hereJoeMo wrote:Is it kind of sad that this thread just brought tears to my eyes for Addy?
