You'll be fine unless they YP. You're above one 75th and close to the other.Shooter wrote:This thread really took a turn for the worst... not feeling well right now.

I know. Harvard rejections are going right now too. I'm not emotionally invested in Harvard like I am with Penn, but I just don't feel like taking a double hit right now. I had a feeling that's what was coming today though.Shooter wrote:This thread really took a turn for the worst... not feeling well right now.

WL by email, 174/3.4. UR date 12/23. I don't think I'll stay on the WL, but I haven't completely made up my mind. I'm already in at NYU (can someone explain how I got into NYU and got WL at Penn? Must be splitter magic.) and have a dean's scholarship offer from Mich - I can't see myself on the WL, but I don't want to make the decision right now, I'll wait until the emotional impact/confusion wear off.

I wonder why they only did a couple acceptances before sending out this massive slaughter. They could've at least cushioned it a little more.

I don't think they anticipate everyone reporting their decisions on a forum right awaylaw_monkey wrote:I wonder why they only did a couple acceptances before sending out this massive slaughter. They could've at least cushioned it a little more.

Thanks, I'm not too broken up about this because I'm so excited about NYU and Michigan.

Re: Penn 2011
Did you read the email? I was considering staying on the WL until I read that they would start reviewing waitlisted candidates in mid-May. I don't think waiting until then, with chances of very little if any $, will outweigh NYU or Mich w/ $$.LargeHuman wrote:WL by email, 174/3.4. UR date 12/23. You might have ties to Penn that I don't, but that's just my opinion.

I have your stats and got deferred NYU ED, if I get Penn RD that will be cycle symmetry.LargeHuman wrote:WL by email, 174/3.4. UR date 12/23. Re: Penn 2011
Those are exactly my thoughts as well. Mich w/$ and NYU w/o $ both beat Penn at full price. I just want to make sure I mull the decision over for a day or two.kazu wrote:Did you read the email? Re: Penn 2011
I saw that too, is there no way off the waitlist before then? Like if you submit a why Penn and you didn't before, update with good fall grades, and do well on a Feb retake does anyone think there's a possibility of getting off earlier?kazu wrote:Did you read the email? Re: Penn 2011
Yeah I don't mean cushioning the thread. I just mean in general for them to have such a negative day. I just would've wanted more than a trickle of admits on the first day giving decisions after a break. Hopefully they'll resume phone calls again to balance out the day and a some of you will hear good news. Good luck to everyone still left!bdubs wrote:I don't think they anticipate everyone reporting their decisions on a forum right awaylaw_monkey wrote:I wonder why they only did a couple acceptances before sending out this massive slaughter.
