yes i received an email stating that a decision was sent to me via snailmail on2/04/11 i have not yet received it. it was my impression, correct me if im wrong, that all acceptances have been by phone. Is this correct? So naturally I may receive a DING! tomorrow

That was my impression as well. It could be a WL? What are your stats, if you don't mind?

I hate having no indication as to when they'll be making a decision about me.

From your mouth to gods ears as they say. I then really want to know in a TLS OCD sort of way if that phone call was a prerequisite for an admission. I never thought of it but that would be a nasty ding. dont you think?

ok. it is unclear to me as well as others why they would only call you for acceptances, email you for a waitlist and as i suspect ding you by mail. in other words those like myself that get an email saying a decision was rendered final decision mailed out on 2/04/11 will probably be politely dinged in the privacy of our own homes upon receipt of this infasmous letter. very dramatic

I mean... it'd just be creepy if they called to say "Sorry but...", plus they aren't going to take the time to call the 1,000+ who don't get in. The phone call for those accepted is partially a marketing gimmick to help sway those considering other schools.

do you think my original assumption is wromg? maybe dozens didnt get called. im just basing it on the few posts on this thread. i hope im mistaken. i got a similar email at the same time from fiu( im from Fl) stating decision in mail.finding a patteren would be very interesting

I was WL today via e mail...I was complete Dec 9 and received an e mail yesterday that I was under review...I put my name on the waitlist, but I won't push hard, at this point I am heavily leaning towards BC...Oh, 3.5/161/URM
