College debate? As in, you were on the debate team? I spoke at my college graduation and apparently that means nothing. If I sound bitter it's because I am. But seriously, congrats. Wake's a good school, I hope you take the opportunity.Sex Bob-Omb wrote:No. But college debate is a big thing at Wake. And I think that might've helped. Re: Wake 2011
Congrats to you for getting in... but I have a hard time seeing how the debate team would move anyone in anyway. I met a guy at the ASD last friday who was on mid-tour leave from Afghanistan and would be returning to combat and leading troops in Afghanistan in just a few weeks... But if they admitted you, then you deserve to be there, period.irishvt14 wrote:College debate? As in, you were on the debate team? I spoke at my college graduation and apparently that means nothing. Who gives a shit, you are in. I will see you at ASW in a few weeks. I know nothing about the LS or UG but I am excited to check it out. Anyone have any thoughts on the coed talent at WF?

Nice. I plan on driving up there friday morning. I've visited Wake before (went to HS in NC), but never the law school. I'm pretty pumped.NCtoDC wrote:Megogamecocks wrote:anyone going to the ASW on the 18th?

Seriously? I made an assumption that there would be some decent talent there.

Why would we not? I know LS will be busy but we are still men. Booze and chicks still top the list of priorities.

Still laughing! But of course men will be men. Well good luck in finding your "decent talent"

If this even made my list of things to consider for law school, which it doesn't, Wake wouldn't be at the top of the list.

Re: Wake 2011
I'm going to try and attend the ASW on the 18th, but I'm not sure if I'll make it yet.
Do we have to RSVP for these?
And does anyone know if it's alright to visit the LS at a random time without notifying anyone
cuz that's probably what I'll do...
that's what I've done everywhere else...

Should be the RSVP page for the 3/18 ASW. I wouldn't just show up, might be a good idea to give them a call. This week is spring break, so it will be pretty empty.

Re: Wake 2011
I got my scholarship via e-mail. I called fin. aid and asked if I should be expecting anything in the mail and they said in an "effort to be green" the only thing that would come in snail mail would be a letter saying congrats (which I got ~week after initial email)leidice wrote:

in the... mail?
Their response to me was that fin. aid would be e-mailed.

I live about an hour and fifteen minutes away from Wake. (Born and raised in NC). I visited the law school back in November, but I thought it would be good to meet prospective students as well.gogamecocks wrote:Nice. I plan on driving up there friday morning. Pretty sure they would try to accommodate you, but it would be better to schedule it in advance. They had an awesome tour guide for my scheduled visit.girlonfire wrote:I'm going to try and attend the ASW on the 18th, but I'm not sure if I'll make it yet.

Re: Wake 2011
kind of a weird question: is it flat in Winston-Salem? Like, is it good bicycle terrain? I'd like to be able to ride my bike around if the weather permits... and if I get a ap. close enough to campus.
anyone have any thoughts?

I went to undergrad there. It's flat and pretty bike-friendly, and there are def places to live that would be convenient for a biking commute.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
