They did for me. I got the status checker on 1/10, and a Complete email 1/18.leidice wrote:When did you guys receive your status checker? They sent me one email that said thanks for applying and that my file isn't complete until they receive everything from LSAC, then I got the social media email today as well. Will they send the status checker information once I'm complete?

Wm. & Mary is not a rolling admissions school. My understanding is that decisions should be released & received during the third week of March.

They say they're not a rolling admissions school, but I think what they mean by it is just that they don't tell you before March if you're NOT in.CanadianWolf wrote:Wm. & Mary is not a rolling admissions school. Based on the substantial amount of information shared on lawschoolnumbers.com for the past admission cycle, you are correct in that only rejections & waitlists have been reported in March.

I sent in my app on Tuesday**. I was just kind of surprised they didn't mention anything about a status checker, as a lot of schools sent me theirs the day after I submitted.adiaz43 wrote:leidice wrote:When did you guys receive your status checker? Eh, I'm sort of giving up. Honestly, especially for those of us that have been hanging since Oct-Nov, we're probably WLs at best. I'm trying to do everything I can to tip the scales in my favor, because W&M is the only school that would almost an instant "cycle over" decision for me, but at the end of the day, I think we all have a pretty good idea of where we stand.

+1 but the brief status there/then gone gave me hope that they're starting to look at splitters/non-auto-admits so I'm still hoping to hear something soon!snapdragon wrote:Eh, I'm sort of giving up. Are you still thinking W&L, queenlizzie? They were close to my number 2, but after Wake gave me a much better scholarship, I'm re-thinking.queenlizzie13 wrote:+1. I am starting to give up as well. They may as well admit me now, because they will just have to look at it all over again next cycle.

Re: William & Mary 2011
According to information furnished by Wm. & Mary to USNews for Fall 2009 full time enrollment, Wm. & Mary was the least friendly law school in the nation to Native Americans, Mexican Americans, Puerto Ricans & Other Hispanic Americans reporting 0.0%, 0.0%, 0.0% & 0.8% respectively. Can anyone offer any insight ? I ask because these statistics are unusual & I am familiar with another prominent, although private, school in Virginia at which Hispanics & other minorities have reported an unwelcoming atmosphere at the undergraduate level.

Re: William & Mary 2011
Well, I could venture to guess that a large population of urm in the state live up near dc and nova. Maybe the hispanic urm applicant pool for WM is lower because of the DC market draw. With GW, American, Mason, and Georgetown available to the highest population on hispanics in the state of VA, (mason, like WM, is also cheap) it would make sense that those schools would have more urm applicants, and total numbers. That is a guess though

Re: William & Mary 2011
Congratulations to those accepted !
I have been told by applicants that the Wm. & Mary law school application has a distinct section inquiring as to whether or not the applicant is Hispanic. Is this true ?
P.S. When told this, I assumed that it was because Hispanic apps would be handled separately, but after learning of the USNews stats I think that that may not be beneficial.
Are there any Hispanic or Native American admits ?

I don't think being hispanic or native american will work against you if you select it...

No, I am not a troll. I am just seeking input in this area. Sorry if my inquiry makes you uncomfortable. Students have told me about the application & I just want to know if it is accurate. The stats reportedly were provided to USNews by William & Mary law school. Are they inaccurate ? Thanks !
