Wear something you don't mind sitting for a long time in. It's mostly boring but it has to be done. They just talk at you for a long time, but the profs they had speak last year were pretty enjoyable (to me). It's nothing stressful.missvik218 wrote:jennylynn wrote:No mistake. What else can you tell us about what to expect from Orientation?
I'm going to be in Athens starting July 26th, so I'm going to try to get an ID early for specifically this reason. I need a gym to go to for those couple of weeks. EB, PM me if you'd be interested in meeting up.eagerbeaver wrote:Thanks, Jennylynn. That sounds right--it makes sense that I would have to wait until after I get an id. Oh, well
Oh good--I'm not the only one. TBM, can you let me know if you manage to get the ID early? If its possible, I'd love to meet up (although I'm a woman and may not be the strongest spotter, if that's what you were hoping forTheBigMediocre wrote:I'm going to be in Athens starting July 26th, so I'm going to try to get an ID early for specifically this reason. Haha, I'll let you know for sure. I was also just saying meet up as in "yo, grab a beer" or something since we'll be classmates lol.eagerbeaver wrote:Oh good--I'm not the only one. Ha. Okay, phew. I'm much better at beer than I am at bench-pressing. I'll post when I'm in Athens and maybe we can get a pre-orientation group together. Talk to you then!TheBigMediocre wrote:Haha, I'll let you know for sure. You get to meet a bunch of cool people. Also, they will take a picture (headshot) of you on the second or third day of orientation. This photo will be what other students see when looking you up in the directory and what future employers/interviewers will be able to see before interviewing you. It'd be a good idea to bring a more formal top for this.missvik218 wrote:jennylynn wrote:No mistake. First day = double civ pro. It's not that bad, though. It looks like I'll be bringing the "I F*ck on the First Date" shirt out of storage.cake wrote: You get to meet a bunch of cool people. TBF it was from a breast cancer awareness fundraiser ... Cake, do they give you a heads up as to which day they're going to take these or we should just come prepared with a change of clothes?!

Anyone that applied this cycle with 166/3.6ish numbers, what kind of financial aid package did you get?
Thanks in advance, and before anyone tells me to go look at LSN, shut the hell up.

I can in fact tell you that they increased the tuition rates without adjusting the scholarship amount in the financial aid office. I spoke with Ramsey Bridges in the Admission Office and she met with the Director of Financial Aid, I belive we should be seeing an updated amount of scholarship money in the coming days. If I do not see it by the middle of next week I'll follow up, but for now I think we're supposed to be patient. Our tuition should end up being the $14,148 as shown on their website, ALSO please note that this number does not include the $1,666 for resident fees, so total tuition for IS and IS equalization is now $15,814.TheBigMediocre wrote:Missvik can tell you more, but I think we got a tuition increase without a scholarship increase.
Ohhh, okay. You're way ahead of me. I just sat down today to crank out the numbers and noticed the disparity. Thanks for your response and for checking into this.missvik218 wrote:I can in fact tell you that they increased the tuition rates without adjusting the scholarship amount in the financial aid office.
