I tried it on the Note 5 via Chrome and it didn't work.snarfing wrote:First time poster, just got invited to interview. I dont have any sort of webcam besides my phone and it says the interview doesnt work on mobile devices, but also lists android 4 and up as a supported platform. Anyone try and do it on a phone and if not, do I have time to buy a webcam and have it shipped to me for this interview? Kind of surprised I wasn't just auto denied since my gpa is pretty low (3.5).

This is a big development IMO. I think Cornell is WL a lot more people than usual and thus will take a lot more people off the WL if they show interestJupiter33 wrote:Just got the call. Off the wait-list and accepted. For those of you still waiting, keep up hope! Super pumped right now.

If you were asking me, I haven't received an initial decision yet. Just don't want to suffer the heart attack of a WL.lawnerd87 wrote:Did you interview before or after being waitlisted?Nightwing wrote:That's fantastic news. Re: Cornell c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
this would be the first, I'm going to find out the interview date on the 10th, so I guess it'll be a few weeks and I should probably send it soon. Thanks!ls2k16 wrote:Have you sent one already or would this be the first? Also, when is the interview?studyingeveryday wrote:thanks for the response! what do you think about the LOCI--send it before or after the interview?ls2k16 wrote:1. Probably after. You won't know what effects, if any, the interview will have until it happens. Do the interview, wait a week or two to see if anything happens, and if still nothing, then do the visit. This also gives you another touchpoint post-interview that will help you demonstrate continued interest, which will become increasingly important as the cycle progresses, if they don't pull from reserve early.studyingeveryday wrote:Reserved here a while ago:
1. Do you guys think it would be better to visit before or after we get to do the in-person interview? Since I would probably want to talk with admissions, would it make sense to wait until after the interview, or would doing it beforehand show interest? Or does it completely not matter?
2. There's no info on the website about visiting, so I would have to call and ask. Who should I call? Anyone know if I would be able to actually meet with admissions/sit in on a class/tour?
Essentially, I'm trying to figure out how to utilize a visit to best increase my chances.
2. Call the general admissions number, or email the general admissions email and they'll set it up for you. No harm in asking if those things are possible to set up, and I imagine they are. If I remember correctly, they are generally receptive to meeting with students, doing tours/class sit-in's etc.
If it's really soon, I'd hold off. If you have 2-3 weeks, then I'd send it. If Cornell is your top choice, I'd make sure to emphasize that above other things.

I am of the opinion that it is a poor decision to elect not to interview. To me, it shows disinterest and makes you vulnerable to WL or even rejection.

Agreed! The interview took me all of ~ 20 minutes. Get it done and feel like you gave your application your best shot. Which reminds me, I interviewed on january 28. When will I get response?EWofNell wrote:I am of the opinion that it is a poor decision to elect not to interview. To me, it shows disinterest and makes you vulnerable to WL or even rejection.

From what I've seen here, it looks like people hear back anywhere from a day to a month after completing their interview, which has left me in a personal state of constant anxiety for the past week since my interviewZVBXRPL wrote:Agreed! Interesting! I skipped the interview and figured that I was just waiting on a rejection. How soon after your interview invite were you accepted?bunney_j wrote:I was accepted no interview. Some work/life issues flared up majorly during that week and I just didn't get around to it. Cornell is not a top choice for me, so I just didn't prioritize the interview. I wasn't too proud of myself for missing it, though.bunney_j wrote:I spoke to the Dean at an recruiting event! I never even got a request haha. Why did you skip it? Ah just got the call! 167 and 3.63, so I'm SUPER excited. I'm a Cornell undergrad alum with solid softs and work experience which probably helped push me over the edge!

Lol I feel you - I just ask because it was one of the easier ones I had - not as intimidating by any means. But no worries - I think it might get you a reserve if anything.theothercat wrote:Some work/life issues flared up majorly during that week and I just didn't get around to it. Post-interview anxiety's getting to me too. Every class I go to, every shift I work at, every moment I have any free time... it's all spent thinking about my Cornell decision for the past week. I want in...simplypara588 wrote:From what I've seen here, it looks like people hear back anywhere from a day to a month after completing their interview, which has left me in a personal state of constant anxiety for the past week since my interviewZVBXRPL wrote:Agreed! Got Dinged tonight. Which is weird cause basically everyone else with a 168 got in. I wonder if there was something about my application they specifically didn't likw.

Got dinged just now, 3.2/172. I submitted pretty late in the cycle but I'm really disappointed.

Forgive me if this has already been discussed and I've missed it, but does anyone know what the written portion of the video interview is like? Are the questions at all similar to the verbal response questions?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
