I visited San Francisco in June and finding a cheap flight from NYC area was very difficult but eventually after stalking google flights I found a very cheap way from Newark. One layover going there, and nonstop red eye going back.

I'm really hoping the money comes through, but it looks like my best option right now (which I'm super thrilled about). Seriously rooting for you too, I feel like you're the biggest Berkeley lover on this thread!Rigo wrote:Are people def going to Berkeley yet even without any $$$ info?studyingeveryday wrote:Anyone planning on making the class of 2020 thread?

Thanks! Yeah I love Berkeley! I try not to think about money too much though because of Berkeley's rep as being stingy (and because cart before horse for me since I'm FR)studyingeveryday wrote:I'm really hoping the money comes through, but it looks like my best option right now (which I'm super thrilled about). I'm not sure! But didn't go from waitlist to admit. I did go to faculty review though! Packet was the best I've gotten so far. Only NYU slightly rivaled it, although who chose the cover photo? Some random girl walking up the stairs?? Really weird choice.
Visited yesterday. Berkeley is a fun place. More food than I could ever try. It is a grimy place though.

Berkeley IS a fun place and has tons of great food. I've recently been accepted and have lived in Berkeley for several years, so I'm happy to address any location questions people may have.

WL email specifically said, "Submission of additional materials or a letter of continued interest is not encouraged as these will have neither a bearing on your wait list placement nor on your admission." So, even though it feels weird, I should really sit back and avoid even sending a LOCI?

Has anyone received a BLOS interview invite? You can PM me if you would like. It looks like last year they went out late January, but I don't think anyone on here mentioned getting an invite. I just need to know so I can figure out when I can plan my visit. If I get an interview invite (big "if"), then I probably wouldn't also be able to go for ASW, but if not, then I'm going to ASW, so I'm kind of just waiting to hear back before I do anything.
Does anyone know, if they aren't out yet, when they might be getting out? I'm hesitant to ask admissions, but I'm not sure if my situation could warrant it since I need to plan in advance for visiting?

I've been waiting to hear about BLOS too. Fingers crossed someone here gets an interview so at least we'll know.

First round goes out Feb. 15, and the next one on March 20 -- it sounds like it's rolling rather than split evenly between the two, but there's no specifics on that. On that, what's the likelihood of making the Feb. 15 round if I submitted my documents last week?nimbus cloud wrote:Regular scholarships: we are supposed to hear this week, right?

This may be a bit ignorant on my part, but which documents are you referring to?SmallK wrote:First round goes out Feb. 15, and the next one on March 20 -- it sounds like it's rolling rather than split evenly between the two, but there's no specifics on that. Not at all, I should have been clearer -- FAFSA and CSS.dmc1275 wrote:This may be a bit ignorant on my part, but which documents are you referring to?SmallK wrote:First round goes out Feb. 15, and the next one on March 20 -- it sounds like it's rolling rather than split evenly between the two, but there's no specifics on that.
