I'm looking at LSN and there are so many people who submitted their apps after I did and with better pure numbers than mine that already got decisions one way or the other. I wonder what reason they have for still holding on to my app.

Re: Stanford C/O 2020 Applicants (2016-2017 Cycle)
I've actually already written a LOCI, but I haven't submitted it out of concern that I still end up getting waitlisted and then don't really have anything to send in after that. Wasn't sure if it would be strong enough to tip the scales.Monday wrote:As often said, it's not just about the numbers, right? For me, from complete to decision, Stanford spent over 15 times the amount of time NYU spent and over twice as much as Yale and Harvard. Even at the ASW, there were people who heard back from Stanford first yet were still waiting on, e.g., NYU and UVA.Instrumental wrote:I'm looking at LSN and there are so many people who submitted their apps after I did and with better pure numbers than mine that already got decisions one way or the other. I'd take their holding onto your application as a good sign. Perhaps you could write an LOCI or get a targeted LOR?

Unfortunately won't be able to get the LOR. If I could get an academic one, I'd definitely go for it, but I've been out of school so long it's not feasible. I'll just play the waiting game with the rest of y'all!
