Submitted my form a couple months ago. Received scholarship today. Does anyone know how receptive Cornell is to scholarship negotiation?

Dumb question- are people faxing or mailing in their forms?

Looks like I messed up.. I didn't realize that merit based aid required that form to be turned in. Any idea how badly this will affect my chances of getting any merit-based scholarships? I probably won't be able to fax the form/tax returns until tomorrow

They have an insanely fast turn around time--my form went in exactly a week ago today and my FAFSA this morning.

Since the deadline is March 15, and people just got what seems the be the first wave of offers, I would imagine you're not in trouble yet. I am begging my folks to get their taxes done so I probably cannot send mine in until closer to March.

I feel you on the parents. Fortunately, my sister had a deadline of today and I have another one later this week so my parents were on it this year.

Ha it truly sucks to have something be so out of your control, especially when they are not funding my law school and their finances will only lessen my chances of need aid.

Yep...my parents typically take ages so it was nice that they moved quickly for once. But yes..my parents' finances are weird (looks on paper like we make more than we actually do) so that's a whole thing

My parents are in a weird situation where they don't file taxes annually until the end of May/ beginning of June (always lawfully, with an extension). I'm crossing every finger and toe that I have that Cornell will let me send in their 2014 tax returns instead of waiting for 2015 this summer...

Don't know, but I would definitely hope they are. I was a little disappointed in my offer.
