I'm rapidly approaching the point where I can't really do that, though. Michigan is my favorite, but not so much that I'd go without visiting, etc.

Comforting to hear that there are others in a similar position. Checking the status checker each morning and seeing complete is making me stressed.Gray wrote:+1, same stats, complete early December.OhBoyOhBortles wrote:+1usn26 wrote:<--- This guygoingtothestore wrote:Complete around 12/20 here...who else is still waiting with non YP stats?

Admissions catch-22: can't avoid the WL/ding without visiting, can't afford to visit without an acceptance, can't go all in for UM without visiting.NotASpecialSnowflake wrote:I wonder how big of a difference visiting makes, especially for YP. Similar stats here. Complete around new years. Movement on splitters seems to be really really slow.usn26 wrote:<--- This guygoingtothestore wrote:Complete around 12/20 here...who else is still waiting with non YP stats?

Waiting to see where their median will fall. They'll either be desperate for the LSAT or we'll be chopped liver with no GPA to offer. Blergh.

You'd think with the massive decline in LSAT takers the first will be more likely, which is why I'm confused by the lack of movement. By now they've got to know what their app pool looks like.usn26 wrote:Waiting to see where their median will fall. I disagree. I think the massive decline makes the drop to 167 inevitable, and each point dropped opens up a bigger slice of the bell curve to choose from, and plenty of people in that pool have appealing GPA's and softs.rationalhound wrote:You'd think with the massive decline in LSAT takers the first will be more likely, which is why I'm confused by the lack of movement. That said, if I were them I'd hang on to splitters because I bet the median could still go either way based on yield.

That makes an unfortunate amount of sense. That would make this the year of the reverse splitter. I'd like to think that the schools outside of the t6 are gonna be fighting over the 170+ people come yield time so they don't drop, but that might be a massive amount of wishful thinking.usn26 wrote: I disagree. I've been getting this feeling from reading through many of the t14 applicant threads this year. It seems like people with mid-high 160s LSATs and 3.8+ GPAs are having great cycles.rationalhound wrote:That makes an unfortunate amount of sense. edit: this could also just be bitterness as a big splitter with general lack of movement on many of my applications...

I kind of agree with this...as a reverse splitter I've been pleasantly surprised with the decisions I've received. I was banking on maybe, maybeeee getting into 1 or 2 lower end T14s, but so far my cycle has exceeded those expectations. I even have a c and f issue (at the risk of outing myself). I honestly feel like I don't deserve any of it...I want to call them and be like ARE YOU SURE?? But, still no word from Michigan despite applying 2 months ago, and the rest I haven't heard from yet are surely rejections/waitlists because the acceptances got back to me very quickly. I'm also not likely to get any scholarships as a reverse splitter, so you traditional splitters still have that going for you. Good luck to everyone, we'll all make it in the endtk17 wrote:I've been getting this feeling from reading through many of the t14 applicant threads this year. I haven't heard anything from any of the t14 with the exception being WL at Chicago. I wrote a Why Michigan and I think, increasingly, it'd be my top choice if accepted. Stop hating me and be my Valentine? I visited in October and it's close enough for me to drive out there again.tk17 wrote: It seems like people with mid-high 160s LSATs and 3.8+ GPAs are having great cycles.

In via status checker, as of Feb.9.
I submitted on Jan.7 and received their status checker on Jan.13.
My GPA is below their median but LSAT is above 75%.
Good luck everyone! if you have specific questions you can pm me.

Hmm I got a fall start acceptance, but got an e-mail saying that since I had checked the box saying I was open to either they wanted to give me the opportunity to switch. Based off that e-mail I suspect their summer session is emptier than they hoped.NotASpecialSnowflake wrote:I wonder how big of a difference visiting makes, especially for YP. I'm rapidly approaching the point where I can't really do that, though. Michigan is my favorite, but not so much that I'd go without visiting, etc.
