Waitlisted via email after being Held in early December. Riding this train until the end...
Any other Held people hear back today? They said they would get a decision to those of us held by 2/27, so I'm surprised I actually heard back this early.

Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
I was admitted back in November, but Dean Cornblatt came to campus today to give a group interview and I decided to participate so I could meet him and thank him in person. I have to say, of all the interviews I've done this cycle, that one was the most fun. The exercises really got people thinking and talking, and I felt like everyone in the room really enjoyed it. Dean Cornblatt did a really good job of making sure everyone spoke up while still putting everyone at ease.
For those who will be doing group interviews later in the cycle, don't sweat it. Just go in and relax. It's going to be a lot different than you think.

I just got in via snail mail... LSAT and GPA above 75th. Is there a way to apply for scholarships, how does this work at Georgetown? Do they offer them to you unsolicited? If so, is it at time of admission, or later? Thanks!!

Going on just over 2 weeks since I applied ED and am a long shot at best, so I was kind of hoping to hear about an interview for a chance to sell myself but the silence has me slightly worried that I struck out.

I'm in the same boat, except I received my UN/PW on Monday and still can't access the site

I also wanted to know if it is taking 3-4 weeks to get an acceptance letter for ED applicants, is it taking longer to get the email if on WL or denied

Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
I think the consensus is that it is taking longer than the 3 weeks. My concern is not that I have not got a decision it was just I was hoping to be considered a borderline candidate with a chance for an interview to have a shot to sell myself a little more. Not saying that wont happen, just saying I was hoping it would have happened already hahafutjdstu wrote:Grunt2Grad wrote:Going on just over 2 weeks since I applied ED and am a long shot at best, so I was kind of hoping to hear about an interview for a chance to sell myself but the silence has me slightly worried that I struck out.

We are also sure application completed status is not an indicator of any particular decision.Grunt2Grad wrote:I think the consensus is that it is taking longer than the 3 weeks. To the people who have been admitted already, did any of you decline the invitation to interview?

don't have the time to search through the thread right now, but I remember someone turned down the interview and was accepted a day or two later.YeezusPiece wrote:To the people who have been admitted already, did any of you decline the invitation to interview?
got an interview invite earlier this week, finally decided I should just go for it. I'm probably considered more borderline than YP, but if nothing else, it never hurts to keep the interview game strong, right?

I did - I am in the military and was deployed at the time. I told them I would be willing to do a phone interview if needed. Never heard back and was admitted a week later.YeezusPiece wrote:To the people who have been admitted already, did any of you decline the invitation to interview?

I was accepted a couple of weeks ago and had the same issue originally. you should be okay… they send out decision letters but don't allow the new admits access into the admitted students portal for 4 days until after sending those letters. this is supposedly so that the letter will beat the website in giving you a decision

Is there a larger mailing after the little letter to look forward to, or nah?creedbratton wrote:mshahsm wrote:Looks like other people have had the same issue. There's no larger mailing--you have to wait for the ASW to get Georgetown Law swag.Dipper wrote: Is there a larger mailing after the little letter to look forward to, or nah?

Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
Heard nothing yet, but logged in successfully to the ASW. I'm home for the weekend and they would've sent a letter to me here, but parents are out of town and our neighbors have been collecting the mail—and they're not home, so I don't know if I've gotten a letter yet.
Has anyone been able to log in to the ASW somehow and not gotten admitted?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
