Re: Emory class of 2016 (2012-2013 cycle)
Just called Emory's admission office and they say that they are still reviewing waitlist applications and that there is still a steady flow of waitlist applicants receiving acceptances. That was the most I could get out of them so hopefully that helps a little bit. Apparently a lot of seats can open after the second deposit deadline as there are many accepted applicants who may withdraw for a number of reasons including acceptance at a more preferred school. So to all my fellow waitlisters, let's keeping holding out and hoping for a phone call

For those that were on the waitlist and were accepted, how does the 48 hour decision notification work? I'm curious as to the stipulations such as the deposit amount etc. Thanks!

Re: Emory class of 2016 (2012-2013 cycle)
When I was pulled off the waitlist in August last year, they waived the deposit, offered a scholarship and gave me several days to decide. Hope that helps.ramsdancer1 wrote:For those that were on the waitlist and were accepted, how does the 48 hour decision notification work? It's like I don't want to pay it because I really hope Vandy pulls me from the WL but I know I have to be realisticJXander wrote:5/31Minnywild7 wrote:Does anyone know when the second deposit deadline is?

Shit WL off 162/3.66
Never got a phone call. I'd pay full sticker though so I guess I'm just going to hold out. Not tripping if they don't throw money at my feet.

Hey guys...0L starting at Emory this Fall. How did you guys manage financial aid? I have no money so I received federal stafford loans but I also need additional loans so im thinking about GradPlus like every other law student....I've been looking into Emory websites and info but it seems like Emory doesn't have a school-specific loan for its law students. Can anyone verify this? I would imagine a school-specific loan would be better off than GradPlus loan.

I don't know if this is a silly question or not but what is a "school-specific" loan?

It's a loan that a school gives out directly, so you'd be borrowing from Emory instead of the federal government. Not every school has an in-house loan program...but the interest rate is usually a lot better than GradPLUSJLA wrote:ghostowl wrote:Hey guys...0L starting at Emory this Fall. The second deposit deadline is on Friday, so I suspect there will be a little bit of movement during the week following.

From what I understood, it was just this past Friday. I wouldn't expect WL movement until later this week, unless you're on the infamous, unofficial, priority WL, haha

Deadlines generally require that payment be postmarked by then. With that in mind later this week and next week would be my prediction.
Still my top choice so I'm hoping for the best.

Just got in off the priority waitlist, waiting to hear on money.
I've never visited, so can anyone who has been there give some insight as to the total package?

Has anyone else heard back from the wait list? I know it's early in the week and hopefully we'll see movement this week, but thought this would make the board more interesting

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
