Chicago's response on their website about whether you can submit a separate diversity statement:
"You may, but please do so only when they are important to your application. Please remember that you want to be concise and genuine.
We believe that the personal statement is a wonderful place to discuss any aspects of your background (e.g., racial, ethnic, or religious identification, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, etc.) that are significant to you. If you find that you cannot include these topics in your personal statement, you may submit an additional diversity statement.
If there are genuine and informed reasons why you are particularly interested in studying law at Chicago, you are welcome to discuss them in an additional essay. You may, but please do so only when they are important to your application. Please remember that you want to be concise and genuine.

Re: Chicago c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Dean Perry didn't seem terribly impressed with me... but at the end of the interview, after I asked a question about whether or not, given the high level of professors at Chicago, she said "when you're at Chicago, they'll go in and out of the same doors and elevators as you."
Of course, I think she meant a general "one"-type "you" rather than a "you"-type "you".
Oh well, time to wait. Thanks again for your help, everyone.

If it helps, she didn't seem impressed with me either. She kept looking off to the sides as if she was bored. She also didn't respond very enthusiastically to anything I said, but that might just be her style. We can only wait and see. Her attitude was like that with me as well. Seemed like she needed a nap or something.Mr. Elshal wrote:If it helps, she didn't seem impressed with me either. it might just be her style. she came to my school two years ago to do 15 minute interviews w/ prospectives. she was a really uncooperative interviewer...gave short, unhelpful answers to my questions and never elaborated. i thought it was just my auto-ding numbers but friends w/ much higher stats ended up reporting a similar experience. i'm sure you guys did much better than you think, good luckrobot_socrates wrote:Mr. Elshal wrote:If it helps, she didn't seem impressed with me either. Just received an interview invite, as well! I have felt forgotten by so many schools, so I'm very excited that Chicago acknowledged my existence! Also, I submitted in early November, went UR on 01/09, and my stats are in my profile.

Thanks for the tip. We have the same ur dates so I checked my email and I had an invite waiting for me as well. I'm pretty excited. I was convinced I topped out at NYU; not that being offered an interview means much.MustacheMarshall wrote:Just received an interview invite, as well! Re: Chicago c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Had my interview a couple of days ago. I think it went decently, even though I also felt like my interviewer was not overly impressed with me but I'm glad to hear others feel the same way. It's probably intentional.
My status changed back to under review right after the interview, and the date just changed again today. I'm starting to get really anxious, especially since my numbers are not too competitive.
