You're a beast. With those numbers you should be extremely proud of yourself. I hope you know that. Now withdraw from SH and make some space for mortals.SlothMonkey wrote:I just got the call from 203 this afternoon. I'm still in shock. Best of luck to everyone!

175+ LSAT and 4.0 GPA does not make you one of us by any stretch of the imagination.adam1 wrote:You're a beast. With those numbers you should be extremely proud of yourself. I hope you know that. I wish that were true. It's a retake, and my UG has negative prestige, which mostly hurts on the LOR I think. I'm held H, soft held SY. My guess would be that sloth monkey has killer LORs from her top five university where she was ranked highly. UG matters. That said, she probably has a better PS, etc. too. Like I said, mortal.Geneva wrote:175+ LSAT and 4.0 GPA does not make you one of us by any stretch of the imagination.adam1 wrote:You're a beast. Probably fairly good odds that there will be some admits. They seem to be trickling in somewhat steadily this week. Whether that will be any of us today, I don't know. Hope so!Geneva wrote:odds that there willbe new admits today?

Just called the admissions office with a question.
Got a recorded message -- the office is closed all day today. It will reopen on Monday.
So I don't think we'll be seeing any movement today sadly.

You find that UG prestige matters substantially? I was quite worried about mine but I've been pleasantly surprised at how little it appears to matter (that said I'm still waiting on Yale/Stanford but with Harvard it didn't seem to be an issue at all). Could be because I'm Canadian though and all the schools are viewed as being the same.adam1 wrote:I wish that were true. About 1/3 of Yale Law students come from HYPS undergrad. I can't speak to any causality, but it's a very interesting statistic to keep in mind.ladeornmc wrote:You find that UG prestige matters substantially? On the other end of the spectrum, I have this feeling that Yale likes students who perform really well in public schools and/or unknown schools too. It's totally from anecdotal evidence, but it's something I've wondered about.

this is silly, but i do remember reading an interview in which yale referred to uva/berk as the "typical" schools u would expect to send grads to yale...this was in the same breath as saying they don't discriminate based on ug, but...interesting choice of examplesDoorkeeper wrote:About 1/3 of Yale Law students come from HYPS undergrad. Thanks so much everyone! I haven't made my admissions decision yet, but Yale has been at the top of my list for a long time. Good luck to those still waiting for decisions!!

I don't know if they'll call during easter weekend but just because the office is closed doesn't mean there won't be calls. They've called on the weekends and at night before. Not to give people false hope but you never know!thestillpoint wrote:Just called the admissions office with a question.

Just called Yale Admissions again, because I have a question and they were closed Friday. I got the exact same recorded message saying that the office would "reopen on Monday, April 9th." Not sure what to think of that, maybe they decided an extended vacation from neurotic applicants was in order...

Can someone give me a brief update. I applied early and have not heard a thing (and thankfully have avoided following this thread until now).

Re: Yale c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I guess I am not familiar with the timeline of yale's admission process. Are things winding down at this point or are there still lots of seats?
When is the latest I will hear an initial decision accept/reject/wl decision?
Is it good news that I have not been rejected yet? (or some less stupid question).

Re: Yale c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
The chances of being admitted at this point with out a WL are very low and decreasing. Early applicants who have survived seem to have a fairly good shot at WL.admisionquestion wrote:I guess I am not familiar with the timeline of yale's admission process. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.
