Hi guys! I'm new to this thread, just wanted to let you know I got waitlisted at STCL at noon today, then accepted at 3 pm. So looks like I'll be part of the STCL August 2011 bunch

Sounds like I must have been one of the last accepted... Glad I didn't read this thread a month ago or I would have had a heart attack.

GPA: Very Very low... (2.3). Way too much fun in college. Strong finish though.

The reason I ask is because prior to a week ago, Tech was 17K, now with the tuition hikes it is looking like 23-24K. I'm just wondering if we should assume 26,400 or 27 or 29 etc.

Well, I'll put it this way, I haven't seen a school yet that is keeping tuition constant. I've would expect "26,340" last year, 26,900 this year, 27,500 etc etc. But when I visited Tulsa, for example, they said tuition (last year was 30K) would go up 10-20% PER YEAR! (3-6k!)

Just trying to figure out if this will be one of the 30K schools soon?

Now that it is cleared up, I'll wait for the FASFA results from STCL.
FWIW, I have little credit history, and was able to borrow the "full amount" from another school. That school was 53K total, so I think I'm good-to-go.

Well, I'm going to take out tuition + living. STCL estimates that at 49K or so, so probably will take out around that, but hopefully for 2L and 3L, I'll have a set budget, a roommate, and a working girlfriend.

Ah that will be nice! What's the average rent I should be looking at for a 1 bedroom in a nice place? Not too fancy though

Lol. My thought process is that they sent out waitlist and acceptances at the same time, and I must have been right at the top of the waitlist, and someone declined. I duno, just my guess.

But I also applied pretty late... mid January.
