just went complete yesterday. So is the general order received>complete>in review>decision? Where are most people getting held up the longest?

You are above the 168 wall, so you might get reviewed quickly. Some of us have been sitting at complete for 2 to 3 months waiting.soccerfreak wrote:just went complete yesterday. So is the general order received>complete>in review>decision? Where are most people getting held up the longest?

For me, the largest gap was between complete and in review. Complete 1/17--> in review 2/9--> accepted yesterday.soccerfreak wrote:just went complete yesterday. So is the general order received>complete>in review>decision? Where are most people getting held up the longest?

that 168 wall has got to be a myth

It's not absolute, just a general rule. Plenty of people w/ high LSATs were held longer last year. Some people got in as late as March or April, but very few at/above median didn't make it eventually.dreakol wrote:Flips88 wrote:You are above the 168 wall, so you might get reviewed quickly. Any on advice/experience with negotiating scholarship dollar amounts? WUSTL is sitting right near the top of my list, but a free education from MN and IUB will be hard to turn down.

Please, do yourself a favor and don't take on too much additional debt to go to WUSTL over either of those two. I'd say $20k TOTAL, at the most. It's not really worth it unless you want to practice in STL.PSUFB1114 wrote:Any on advice/experience with negotiating scholarship dollar amounts? 167/3.15 here... waiting....
Looking at LSN it looks like everyone with my numbers has been accepted at WUSTL over the past few years (except for those who applied in Feb. or later), but I really want a reply...
Just curious, those of you who have been accepted, how did you hear from WUSTL? Email? Status check? Snail mail?
Thanks.

Ok, thanks for the responses. Now I'm going to go hide in a room with my smartphone and stare at it until they email me.

I would really check out the job prospects from each of those two schools before you reject WUSTL out of hand. IU-B is vastly over-rated by US News due to a massive donation from one alumni a few years ago, and as of c/o 2009, hasn't even scored in the top 50 schools in terms of NLJ 250 placement. No debt may make this a moot point for you, but if you really want Biglaw, I would stay away from IU-B.PSUFB1114 wrote:Any on advice/experience with negotiating scholarship dollar amounts? Minnesota is a pretty good school, but check out the NALP directory regarding firms that do OCI there. There's a couple of really good firms in Minneapolis, but the majority of Minnesota's job prospects are in Minnesota, and if not there, Wisconsin.
WUSTL has far superior inroads to the Chicago, DC, NY, and West Coast markets than either of these schools (not to say that they are great, but just that they are better than the above schools you list).
I don't mean to be a homer here...I just want to give you accurate information.

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
BTW, some job information for people on here...we're having 1L OCI right now, and I know of people outside the top third that have interviews. There's really only a small handful of jobs available at any school for 1L OCI, but the notion that people simply above median can get an interview was surprising to me.
Also, please don't read too much into this...out of a class of 274 people, I'd be surprised if more than 20 got summer jobs through 1L OCI. But I thought it was interesting that some of the firms don't have ridiculous interview criteria.

Lottery system explains most of it. I know quite few people in the top 10-20% grades without interviews.JCougar wrote:BTW, some job information for people on here...we're having 1L OCI right now, and I know of people outside the top third that have interviews. But yeah, 1L OCI is not a real job opportunity for most 1Ls. If you rely on 1L OCI to get you a job (no matter what your grades are), you do so at your own detriment.

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
I completely agree, but maybe I didn't phrase my question right. I'm looking for information on negotiating the scholarship offer I've already received from WUSTL. If they match full tuition, or come up a little from 114k, I will very likely be in St. Louis in the fall. I just have no idea how to go about doing so. Call/email admissions or what?JCougar wrote:I would really check out the job prospects from each of those two schools before you reject WUSTL out of hand.
